The Original Stars: A Tribute to Film's Golden Age

Hey, guys! I made this video when I was fourteen years old, and it features some of my favorite Classic Hollywood Era leading men and leading ladies. As you've probably already figured, I couldn't and didn't include everybody. If there's someone you're missing, put their name in the comments. I may or may not make a sequel to this, but if I do, many suggestions will definitely be included. I do not own any of the material presented here. Thanks for watching :)

Notes:

*There are some mistakes in this video. I listed Sean Connery’s birth year as 1925, when it is, in fact, 1930, so I apologize. I also messed up Thelma Todd’s years. She was born in 1906, not 1905.

*I’ve noticed a lot of comments saying that I missed certain people who actually appeared in the video. I know the pictures came and went relatively fast, but that is because I tried to include as many film stars in this video as possible (I’m sorry if they are too fast).

Music:
*To a Young Lady by Robert Farnon
*Judy by Percy Faith
*Marilyn by Percy Faith
*Canadian Sunset by Eddie Heywood and Hugo Winterhalter

Thank you so much for including Linda Darnell on this she was my late grandpa's second cousin and I grew up hearing about her he said she was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside and he loved her till the day he died..I think alot of the pseudo celebrities now can certainly use some etiquette and charm classes for sure but definitely can't hold a candle to these talents that's for sure.. please excuse my lack of punctuation my eyesight stinks and you all have a wonderful blessed day and again thank you so much for this it made my day and nice to know people still like Linda and her films.

For many of these classic movie stars, I believe they will never be replaced, no, never again.
Thank you God for them and their movies, by which You have given me the opportunity to have seen and enjoy with much pleasure.
In case you're wondering, I'm 70 years old.

Thanks for including the silent stars. Hard to believe how young Bogart, Gable, and Cooper were when they went. Carole Lombard...what a tragedy.

Thank you for your efforts in reminding us of some of our heroes and heroines of yesteryear. Some who graced us with their talent and lived a long life and others whose lives were cut tragically short. Whilst those of us who were born before or during the 'Golden Age' of the movies are still living, they will never be forgotten.

Wonderful music selection. I am tired of rock and house music to old Hollywood videos. They sure had "it" in those days...

Very nice. I had to pause the video a few times in order to have a long look at some of the greats. Once in a lifetime actors like James Mason and Sir Laurence Olivier in their prime. Thanks for posting.

these were the real original actors and actresses that set the ball in motion for Hollywood...when drama was drama and comedy was really funny...this era and elite group will never be again...only to be emulated and remade...
but never the real McCoy like these.. stupendous display of a golden era and beginning of film..💗

Beautiful! Love the classic stars of Hollywood...and the movie classics. I wanted to belong to
their generation...they're the greatest generation. I don't belong to our generation; I wanted to belong to theirs. (-Sigh- . no time machine yet.) Love your choice of nostalgic period music, too!

Very nostalgic and very well done. A lot of memories of times gone by, when there was real glamor in Hollywood. It looks like this list was compiled about three years ago. Today is June 8, 2021. It needs to be updated as several of these stars have since died.

Great photos of great stars - a lot of work for you. If you create another edition, just slow it down a little bit. Thanks for helping us to remember the real actors.

Great video. Thanks for including many I forgot and some many would not know at all. There will never be stars like they were.

Yes, this tugs at your heart strings. I've found a new love for a great many of these actors and their work over the past few years. And it strikes me that so many of them only passed away in recent years. It's like I had some kind of connection to their time. I could have actually spoken with them had I had the opportunity. It's like the guest that was on What's My Line who had actually seen Lincoln assassinated. He was in the theater when it happened and had been looking up at the box when he shot. That was 1865 and this gentleman was on WML in the 1950's. What an awesome link in time. Like talking with a WWII vet. I actually got to speak a little bit with a WWI vet. I didn't take the significance back then. Oh if I had it to do over.... I had a WWII vet from the Battle of the Bulge in our Sunday School class. He was a riot at 91 yrs. Sadly he passed 2 years ago. It was so interesting to listen to how he grew up and what life was like back then. There are so few left. If you get the chance, don't waste it! I get sort of the same heart tug from these actors. Those days will never return. A terrible but unavoidable loss. Thank you and RIP.

Best collage of its type I have seen on these pages achieved by starting in strict alphabetical order reducing the risk of omissions. Well chosen music and some truly rare & stunning portraits. Well done and many thanks.
