Funny how all the comments, to date, are about the shorter lead in. And not about the subject at hand.
I totally agree with you, in that very, very few amps need  20 amp cable.
I know a guy, who thought he knew more than the amp designer and replaced the 15 amp socket/cord with a 20 amp socket/cord....He blew up all 7 channels the very second he flipped on the power switch....he wired the socket wrong....

I was told to check the color of my house wiring meaning type to make sure the builder used wire that could handle the 20 amps or their could be a fire. any thoughts on this?
