Working on a film like this during a global pandemic is insanely challenging, but you and your crew managed to make something special. I hope to see your work on the big screen one day!

Jake! I love how vulnerable you are. Talking about your strengths and weaknesses equally. Love learning from you, and the film was terrific! Can't WAIT to see the next one.

You should do a video discussing the cost of production. I think it would be really helpful to how much it may cost to do a short film like this one.

You are a natural in your reflection and empathizing the important elements you learned. Some things you can't prepare, but can only learn through experience

This is why I love full time filmmaker, they involve 100% real senarios and create these breakdowns. I feel like people who were stuck like me needed this years ago. Thanks Jake, and also Parker.

IMHO... Acting was great, dialogue and sound design great. Colour grade looked great, but I wonder if it looked too good for the speculative dystopian story you were trying to tell. Cinematographers seem to spend their life these days trying to dirty up their images! Two problems: Handheld shouldn't be 'a look'. It should be a specific choice according to the needs of the story. In the desert and forest walk-around, handheld just made the camera a third character stalking him. Handheld just doesn't work for long shots, but felt completely appropriate for CU and the fight. Second problem, the music was overblown and far too much for such a sparse narrative. A minimal, even aleatoric soundtrack would have provided a much deeper and appropriate atmosphere.

A great achievement of course, but I've always found constructive criticism more helpful to me than a thousand 'well dones'.

13-year-old filmamker, editor, and actor. Waiting for COVID-19 to end so that I can finally shoot a short film.

Luckily, I have Full Time Filmmaker to help me. Thanks!

I’m a young cinematographer, if I even can call myself one. I would love to shoot a short film in the near future, I hope someone crosses my path one day so I don’t have to do all of this alone, which I definitely can’t yet. But that’s okay, I’m in here for the long run, so this is all time to learn new things

Thanks so much for sharing this! Not only do you learn a lot but it doesn’t feel as far-fetched anymore to create and produce something alike. It feels more tangible and realistic if that makes sense. That is why I cherish all kinds of BTS :)
