Someone asked Denzel Washington for some acting advice, he simply said “keep it simple” and that applies rather your behind the camera or in front. That how I’m able to get so many short films done.

Filmmaking 🎬 Important Points

1. Focus on the Story 50% 🏃‍♂️
2. Focus on the Audio 30% 🎶
3. Focus on the Video 20% 🎥

The color grade was dope. That’s one of things that had me amazed. I’ve used some of your luts and they’re darn good too

there is an awesome documentary called Super Size Me. Had to have been filmed in 720p but won awards and was an amazing story. The story is more important than the resolution.

Loved hearing about the process! What you said about planning is so true! When we were filming Cold Island we tried to plan everything and on the second day weather messed up our entire schedule and video and we had to roll with the punches. Sometimes the best things happen though when you leave room for spontaneity, also a great opportunity to learn.

I only know you as a subscriber but man I am so proud of From the shaky voice when you started the channel until now you are a prime example of what following your passion can do. You have inspired so many of us here on YouTube(like myself) and I cant wait to see what your future holds.

I love the perspective. I think all of us creators get stuck in our own head while we are creating and when we release it. We want it to make an impact and tell a dope story in an interesting way. The takeaway for me was; when things suck, create, when things are going up, create. Thanks for the inspiration homie ✌🏾

I really enjoyed the short film. I thought it was great that you included the part about taking a break, and relaxing to rest your mind/creativity. I find, with myself, I’m hyper self critical and I get stuck in these pockets of quitting because I’m not good enough for my own expectations. “Why isn’t this beat working? Why can’t I write a good melody? I just suck at this.” And I originally thought that’s what you were trying to portray. But then you got up and started creating again, and that, for some reason, was a really powerful, inspirational moment for me. I really appreciate you sharing your short film, and the rest of your videos.

You found making a short film harder than a music video?! Wow. Music videos including, yours look crazy compared to short films imho BUT it was great to know that someone as experienced as you found it took you longer to complete it and the length you’d initially anticipated too.
It has taken me until last October to make short films to a level I was starting to be pleased with and when I did, I got headhunted by The LADbible Group (about a week after publishing it to my YouTube channel) for whom I’m in the final stages of post-production as a freelancer, with my first short doc for them related to the passion projects I’ve been doing for the last couple of years.
I know you’re transitioning away from music videos but your content is still and always insightful and very much appreciated. So thank you.

That 50mm 1.2 is boss level. The slider is fire as well. The 50mm 1.2 is so wide open at its max, you can use natural light with no issues.

Story telling is key! Can have the best 4K video but if it has no soul it’s pointless! Great work brother

Great little behind the scenes man. One thing I'll always remember when I took film at Uni was that they always stressed a pretty picture will never counter bad audio, but great audio can forgive a bad image.

Thank you again, for this. I have been trying to inspire my creative son to just work on anything as he has been on a block for months. I will forward this and your short story with the hope it can let him know he is not alone and that he has more support than he believes.

Great work man! I totally agree with you on the "just gotta do it" part. Many creatives just sit and wish they can do something or make excuses but the only way is to take action. I've been taking action on many ideas that I think of and it's good to exercise your mind and just do the dam thing! Keep up the fire work!!!!
