I’m glad he brought this up I remember watching “Married with children” and they were suppose to be drinking beer cans but I could totally tell the way they were holding the cans that they were completely empty.

Empty the bottle, squish the bottle to size, fill the bottle back up and close the lid.
No cutting, taping and leaking.

A lot of the thinner bottles can just be partially inverted to make them shorter. Then no tape is required.

That's a nice solution. Easy to swap into a new cup. I always thought adding the water holding crystals that are used in diapers would be a great solution. They are readily available in gardening departments to add to potting soil. Add crystals to the cup, then water and now you have a gel. I was also thinking about epoxy or even slime. I am just a TV fan that hates the unrealistic gestures an empty prop cup allows. Also being an audio enthusiast, a barely sipped from paper coffee cup being set down on a desk making a hollow noise is the worst.
