Today’s mini lesson is on the difference between its and it’s. This is a very common mistake for both native English speakers and ESL learners. In this video, you'll learn the difference between its and it's and learn how to use each of them in a sentence. We'll also do a practice session with examples.

Its, I-T-S, is the possessive form of it. Usually, we use apostrophes to show possession, but "its" doesn't need one.
Example:
It is a dog.
Its name is Sparky.

Now let’s look at the word It’s, I-T-apostrophe-S. It's is a contraction, meaning a shorter or "contracted" form of "it is" or, in some cases, "it has."
Example:
It's a beautiful day! = It is a beautiful day!
It's been raining for hours. = It has been raining for hours.

Now it's your turn to practice!
Write sentences using its and it’s in the comments section of this video!

Hey! Your videos are amazing, really! I suggest that you should make one on the topic conditional sentences. It's the one quite misunderstood hehe.
