DISCLAIMER - DO IT PROPERLY DONT COPY THIS TEMPORARY SOLUTION 😆Here I extend the reach of the 12v battery by using an ordinary 10 meter extension plug. Be very careful not to allow the plug to be plugged into mains when setup like this!! The best plan is to use proper 12v wire and plugs but I'm a lazy cheapskate and this is why I used the extension in this way. DO NOT DO THIS If there is any chance anyone could plug it into the mains by accident!!!!

It runs fine, wires don't get hot at all but it is not suitable for heavier loads. The 45w blanket is less than having a car headlamp bulb on the wire so is a negligible load. The blanket has a timer which turns off after 60 minutes, it is good for not flattening the battery while you sleep. I used it on a bed and it worked fine, almost too hot! Nice to save the inevitable penny's from leaving a mains powered electric blanket on overnight!

To all the people saying it's dangerous etc. Well it's no different to any wiring, just happens to be designed for 240 volts so all of a sudden the cry babies come out. Grow a pair of nads and stop being wussy.
