I wish all the battery backup companies would design to make them UPS-able. They offer so much more run-time per dollar than the regular UPS models.

Appreciate your videos and candid review, I especially like the fact you point out that 30mS switch over time as a UPS may not be sufficient in all applications. There are other brands on the market for residential/small business applications offered by manufacturers who build UPS systems for large scale data center applications and they offer a switch over time of 12mS or less. For something portable and easy to use this looks like a great solution, however I’d still recommend an installed standby home generator if your budget can afford it. In my case I use a whole home generator (plumbed to my natural gas line) with transfer switch that handles power transfer automatically, complimented with a UPS system to power all the sensitive electronic loads that cannot tolerate the generator switch over time. A proper UPS system also cleans the power to your electronic loads which adds further benefit. It comes down to what you want in a backup power solution and your budget.

Watching this in a power outage right now to pass the time. Think I'm going to get the base model so I can charge up the phones and tablets to keep people happy for short duration outages.

The only thing I don’t like is the naming scheme. Max should be the biggest, not Pro.

While I work on, repair or even build/design my own inverters and UPSes I will probably never buy a brand new power station (because I can do it way cheaper and can easily customize the final product for whatever i need without worrying about losing warranties) - EcoFlow products are pretty much the example of what modern, consumer grade power stations should work like. Their internals are pretty much all professionally assembled and designed, batteries are actually well protected and there is no dirty cheaping out on components unlike many other companies' products in my country. This, (along with their decent rarity in Europe) contributes to the fact that it's almost impossible to find a used or broken one on the market - which is a good sign for regular people! ... I've only ever had one for repairs, someone seemed to have connected an entire 450V string of solar panels into the input - soo that wasnt the fault of the manufacturer haha!

Edit: also they use freakin' XTxx connectors that are actually usable and don't require being glued down to the boards to not get loose after a few seconds. This is probably one of the repair friendliest connectors there is!

I do love the fact that they have 3000 charge cycles which can actually last me for about 10 years of use.

I own a (EU) river 2 - the usb-c port on this smallest model can only deliver / take 60 Watts … the max and pro do 100 Watts. Greetings & stay safe you all - Patrick

Awesome review as always.. A few days ago I commented about such a review on battery generators to power a TV and an Xbox series X, and I have my answer now. Thanks! I will recommend this channel as I have always done.

i own the eco flow river 2. before using the AC input check the watts of whatever you plug into and make sure it isn’t double of the watts it need to run it. it will definitely kill the battery on camping trips or any outdoor use. I’ll go with the next higher up which is the Max

If your going to run these as a UPC 24/7 then it would be better to set the Soc to max charge of 80% or even 90% if needed.

One of the features I like about the new River 2 is that it only needs an hour to fully charge.

Just charged up my OG River with the second battery for this winter storm. Very happy with it since buying it earlier this year. Don't see a reason to upgrade until I decide to commit to the Delta line.

Wow that river 2 is amazing bang for the buck. The price batteries have really come down lately. The battery back up functionally really has me wondering if I need this. Being able to use it as backup for my router would give me a lot more value!

I think that River 2 is perfect for trekking since it only weighs at 3.5 kilos.

I wonder if the smallest one would power a small space heater for a few hours
