This was a spectacular episode. I learned a great deal more about worker cooperatives. Thank you very much.

Why aren't we talking about union's not getting the reduced hours that has been proposed in early negotiations? The rail road didn't get it and the auro workers were told they'd have to "make up" time (more hours)

Thank you professor Wolff! You offer possibilities in a world that has lost its soul to greed and fear. Even the American Constitution isn't set up to prohibit the extremes of wealth and poverty. I hope enough Americans open their eyes and step up to making the changes to the economic system necessary for a real democratic country, and not a corrupt Oligarchy which we now have!

Some queries are so ignorant. We have many companies, employee owned, that compete in our capitalist country.

I just finished a great book by Matt Huber. Part of what he suggests is that workers build up confidence in a key industry such as electricity production and transform it to produce without burning fossil fuels. Inspiring.

Very interesting episode, however the Prof seems unaware of the fractional reserve banking system current status. The current fractional reserve is zero percent, which means the bank do not require any deposits at all to lend out money. In other words the banks would rather people do not save any money they would have to pay interest on.

Most people will agree that some people should have more than some because of the importance of their knowledge or skills. it's the excessive that's killing us all.

Regarding the banks, Prudential Supervision and regulation. Legislate to prevent the banks from lending more than the amount of their paid up share capital. A bank's loan assets must not exceed its paid up capital. There would be other but associated regulation for a banks providing guarantees, bonds and so on. Similarly with foreign exchange trading and synthetics. Attention needs also to be paid to Investment banking and its relation to Institutional banking. Additionally, no bank would be bailed out if it made losses resulting in its failure. There are other ways to develop the quality of life in a community, and on a larger scale a nation that do not depend on mega-banks and mega-corporations.

The Government was not supposed to bail out the banks.

Actually, our founding fathers did want to replace England's King George with an American King George, so the story goes.
But a benevolent would-be monarch, George Washington himself did not want that.

The people did not decide that. The monarch did.

Instead of breaking up Amazon we should break up the United States Postal Service.

It’s funny that Wolff talks a lot about democracy, and talks alot about China - but never at the same time. I wonder why 🤔
