How does one deal with small businesses? I own a small landscaping business in SE Florida and it is hard to get other small business owners or employees interested in creating a co-op. Mostly I don't think they understand what it means and what's involved. And that they would benefit in the long run. And they don't really want to understand it seems - it's so different from what they are used to.

We are only 5 people, 2 part-time and 3 full time. We do native landscape design, installation and maintenance as well as interior plant design and maintenance. We all do different jobs but pitch in to help each other when needed. As the owner, I have found that not only is it hard to find people to do the physical labor part of the job (dig holes, hauling plants and materials, loading and unloading trucks, weeding, pruning, mulching, fertilizing, and general landscape maintenance) but getting people to be committed to being reliable or responsible is also difficult. There are so many complexities involved in changing to a co-op that I have found it discouraging.

Any thoughts?
