I kinda appreciate the dad in the first story for taking his sons words so seriously from the get go. A lot of stories like this one have the kids being brushed off as "just hearing things" until the intruder is staring them in the face, which always makes me mad. Like even if they end up being wrong, you literally have nothing to lose by double checking.

Lowkey I feel so bad for the mom in the first story. People who go all out for halloween are so selfless and nice IMO, they spend so much time and money just to make kids they don’t even know happy, so her being sad that she won’t get to give most of it away makes me sad too

That final story was genuinely terrifying and what made it worse for me is that James actually attempted to fight against the clown but ended up missing and falling down right at his feet. That guy was probably about to leave but he could’ve been armed and harmed him, and when the clown stared down at him, he could’ve stabbed James or even shot him before making a run for it. So it was a huge relief that the assailant decided it wasn’t worth it just in case the cops came, because that situation could’ve gone from bad to worse.

edit: edited this bc looking back on it, James wasn’t thinking right for not locking the door and attempting to attack the clown. Unless you’re backed into a corner and have no choice but to fight back, then it’s best to hide and/or quietly leave the situation. But he was understandably terrified for he and his girlfriend, so he wasn’t thinking clearly. I know we’re all kinda slam dunking this guy but we’d probably do the same if this happened to us.

I love the first person‘s mother. As someone whose mother never really celebrated things that much, but would do it because it would make me happy. Which don’t get me wrong I do appreciate and love, but I love how enthusiastic she is about Halloween because same and honestly we can bond over that.

It's truly heart-wrenching to think about the mother in the story. She put so much effort, time, and love into creating something special for the children in her neighborhood. Her dedication and selflessness are commendable, and it’s so sad that she won’t get to see the joy and excitement on their faces.
Imagine planning something so magical and not being able to share it. It’s a reminder of how much we sometimes take for granted the simple joys and connections in life. Have you ever experienced a time when you put a lot of effort into something for others and couldn't share it in the way you hoped? How did it make you feel?

I like how the stories really shine during the month of the spooky season. The first story was handled pretty well. The second story tells us never have parties like that, especially when alcohol is involved. Some crazy person could waltz right in and who knows what could happen. The third story, that one shows to be scarier but if you are being followed by some creep in a clown mask. Then you know something isn't right. That creepy clown was probably a stalker. Since it was during the creepy clown epidemic. It's no wonder.
