Non of my stores have this 😅 and if they do it’s crazy expensive. I go for the coffee in the Can container, I can recycle those.

We have this near us now :) but for a very long time, we did not have any bulk bins or large package-free dispensers. I wish more small towns had those options!

Thank you for teaching Home Economics. A class that needs to be brought back to schoolchildren.

Try freezing the majority of your bulk to keep fresher longer

We don’t have this in Sydney, but I’ve hacked my way around it by asking a local cafe if I could buy 500g of their house blend (most cafes in Sydney will sell their beans) and then tell them I’m bringing my own container. Sometimes they’ll even grind it for you! And they’ll just charge you at their retail price.

When I was a kid that was my favorite row in the store. I remember sitting in the cart breathing in deep the coffee beans . I loved the bakery bread smell too. lol

Coffee snob here: try to buy coffee beans one month at a time! they don’t taste right after about a month of storage, and can even end up making u sick! Fresh coffee beans are the way to go as they’ll never be bitter >;P

I only say buy one month at a time because I know you’re trying to cut down on waste so it’ll probably be best for u to buy about .5lbs at a time ❤❤❤

"The average American spends over $60" *flashes a graphic showing that about 80% of Americans spend $60 or less*...

I love that she's saving money on the most expensive item ever! Way to go!

Grocery store beans are always so gross… at least for espresso. I buy directly from a local roaster and unfortunately they individually bag 12oz of beans.

3 lb can of Kirkland signature is $20. I’m pretty sure you can recycle them too

In Brazil it is extremely hard to find grocery stores that have these dispensers.

U should look into how coffee beans are grown, harvested, and proccessed. I dont drink coffee anymore because of it.

Here's a hack: stop drinking coffee and caffeine. Water is your best friend. (We don't have anything like that available or it's incredibly expensive and isn't worth it. But I don't drink coffee so idk.)

You must be in a middle to upper class white neighborhood, I haven't seen a coffee section like that since the last time I was in a rich white neighborhood.

Love this! Will look more closely at my grocery. Hadn't thought of doing it this way.

Most stores around where i live removed these dispensers during covid, and they never brought them back.
