Batteries can and will leak(All brands), but they usually leak when left in devices for a prolonged period of time with little or no use, or when exposed to heat. Use them, then lose them, or just leave them out of the device if you don't intend on using the device.

Thank you. Your video is so well done, you might consider sharing it with all the dollar stores, such as dollar tree, family dollar and dollar general - where I've shopped for batteries for two decades. I'm particularly thankful to you for sharing that batteries may begin to "decompose" while stored in games, controllers, flashlights, etc.

I've been using sunbeam for years. I haven't had any issues.

I've never had an issue with Sunbeam batteries. Other Youtubers have confirmed these results. All alkaline batteries are about the same. We know how to get the best out of this battery technology and no company has a technological advantage. Just never store your devices with batteries installed.

Great video. I have been using the Sunbeam batteries for a few years. now. I do use Duracell or energizer's in my digital camera though if I am taking a LOT of pictures.

Should we throw away a leaking AAA battery or can we clean it using white vinegar and get some use out of it?

Part of what I think about when buying batteries is which battery is more likely to leak. And, if it does, will the company that made the battery reimburse you for the damage? Energizer will, but Sunbeam won't. I don't know about Panasonic, but I had a box full of Panasonic AA batteries (around 40) and not a single one leaked.

For what that's worth. :-)

Funny thing is, I always hear; "Don't buy batteries and light bulbs at the dollar store". What do I always buy at the dollar store? Sunbeam AA alkaline batteries and Sunbeam LED light bulbs.

Damn, you are the man! I need to visit the Dollar store more often! I always felt their merchandise was inferior but now feel otherwise.

Well done. When is the last time anyone saw a graph on a spiral-bound notebook in a YouTube video? But it was probably faster and easier than setting up a table and graph in Excel. Combination of high tech engineering and low tech tabulation of results is great.

Great analysis. I have often wondered how the dollar store batteries compare with the inflated prices of some of the others. BTW I have found that I immediately hit the thumbs up when viewing your exceptional videos. You haven't let me down even once. You obviously have the mind of an inventor/scientist . Looking forward to a new year of E&M.

I've had experiences that match your graph with the Sunbeam, but they're not for long-term and forgetting inside your devices. They're just great for application that go through batteries constantly.

What are the best cheap batteries to buy at Dollar Tree

Great test! Another dollar store battery bargain are the coin cells. You can get two Sunbeam CR2025 or CR2032 batteries for a buck, (they used to be a 3 to a pack.) ;-(
There is a Walmart right next to my dollar store and they sell Energizer CR2032 batteries for $6 a 2-pack. My dollar store is almost always out of the coin cells, so I think people buy them up and sell them on eBay.
Almost forgot, Dollar Tree also carries a 4-pack of LR4 batteries.
