👉Swap the multiple caffeinated beverages daily, for a nice warm cup of peppermint tea or consider decaf coffee. Caffeine tolerance levels will be different for everyone, but caffeine is known to be a big trigger for IBS. Plus, peppermint tea has anti-inflammatory properties and helps with digestion!

👉Incorporate mindfulness practices into your weekly routine! Our gut is strongly connected to our mind (aka the gut-brain connection), and many studies have shown that meditation practices can help calm our gut. Even if it’s 5 minutes once a day, doing a breathing exercise or any form of meditation can help you get that IBS relief.

👉Most importantly, eat foods that are low in FODMAPs. Why? Foods high in FODMAPs contain certain carbohydrates that break down poorly in the small intestine, leading to IBS flare-ups and poor digestion.
