I don't think that is Max changing at all. He's a straight talker, and a realist, and always has been. Nobody wins everything all the time sometimes someone else wins and you have to be able to accept that and work to come back stronger, not just collapse in a crying heap and give up entirely.

I see this as true-to-form Max with a reasoned head on hus shoulders. He isn't saying he's going to lose or is giving up he was just answering the question that was asked.

Regarding Piastri's contract it may be that there are ongoing negotiations with Norris about a raise of his own, but I think there will have been plenty of conversations insode the McLaren team that we aren't privy to regarding the team dynamic and how they want to operate. I think Lando/Oscar are a strong pairing and there is a lot of potential with Piastri who is only in his third (?) F1 season. I think he's coming into this season with a point-to-prove mindset.

Norris has won 4 races, he is no star yet. They should be on the same wage. Lets be real here, who has more upside in the long term to win multiple championships? McLaren obviously think it's Oscar. They would be right imo. Also, Piastri was the most underpaid driver per point on the grid, they had to significantly increase his wage otherwise a team would have easily bought out Piastri's contract at the end of 2025. This was a smart decision by the Crown Prince of Bahrain.

That is again cap from Marko. 2021 redbul had the best car overall and did he win easily? People got it twisted. Max is great but he won last year because mclaren bottled it strategywise. As usual Marko is feeling himself.
