2 strand wall knot

In this tutorial I show you how to tie a 2 strand wall knot, which can be a nice substitute for the snake knot.
The knot comes in handy when tying lanyards, keychains, even bracelets.

The knot can be found under number 775 and 729 in the ABoK.
I find the multi strand version much easier to tie, but the 2 strand version has a ton of uses!

A photo tutorial is also available:

Exactly the knot I was looking for! Watched a couple of times and got it perfect! Thank you!

Thank you so much for doing the work to figure out and teach us this knot. It is very clear, well done from someone who is ‘directionally dyslexic’ 😆. This is exactly what I needed to make a lightweight loop handle for a 50 foot long-line dog leash (for teaching recalls). So wonderful to only have one SHORT end to create the knot.

Thanks for sharing! I learned the knot easily and it's great for keeping the side laces on a leather jacket nice and neat👍👍

This Wall knot is so much easier to follow than doing the snake knots. I finally can remember and do it on my own without the need to refer to video. This knot it is also not so damaging to my nails as compared to snake knots. Frankly, I can't really tell the end results from Snake knots. Thanks a million!

I got this one right first time which is very rare for me.
But that was because of how easy your tutorial is.
Thankyou 👍

I found it helps to tie a simple knot at the end of one rope to remind me which piece to start the overhand loop with. Excellent video!

I wish for tutorials like this you would give a rule of thumb about how much to use to get a braided cord that is a certain length, thanks though, great video

Traditionally in Chinese this knot is called Snake Knot. The other snake knot is called Reinforce Snake Knot. Great tutorial, clear and easy to follow.

This is a snake knot . I make mine up the other way than you do which is so much easier to do .I cross the ends and then make a wall knot in the same direction that I crossed them it's very easy

Excellent knot. Tightens to a very tight hold.
The only caution is to make sure you're butting up knots in series as close as you can as you tighten. Otherwise you'll need a pair of bent needlenose pliers to re-tighten the chain.
