One note: It is very important to the success of this project that you make the Manny Method joint as short as possible—perhaps as little as 1/16" of each color for a total of 1/8" overall. The less, the better, for hiding the joint inside the knot.

It isn't important to use a lot of overlap because the joint won't be bearing load.

Very nice, I'm making a loop for hand on my wading staff? When desired length is reached the only way I can thing is to run it through and melt ends?
