Yes it's true! My drill sergeant made us sing that very same stupid song in boot camp. That was fort Bliss Texas 1966. I spent 67 and most of 68 in the beautiful Southeast Asian country of Vietnam. Two tours, 22 months and 20 days 9 hours and 6 minutes. And the plane was being shot at as we were leaving the country . I hated every minute of it.

Classic!! One of the best jodi’s ever written. Sing along every time🤣🤣🤣 and that’s absolutely true. I actually think they underplayed it. Marine training on Paris Island for Vietnam was damn, near inhumane and absolutely insane. Probably one of the more authentic Vietnam movies out there though and funny.
