It’s good to have emotions. It’s also healthy to cry. The problem isn’t emotions, it’s the fact that some people “don’t have them”. Therefore they think it’s weird when others do.

The downside on having a good heart is we think everyone else around us has a good heart and when we see thats not the case, it backfires :(

1. Not everyone is like you... :(
2. Not everything is about you :)
3. Be companionate to someone that made you feel this.
4. Know yourself to not really take everything serious.
5. You can choose what to take close to yourself. Everyone have very different points.
6. We all have things to improve and problems with us.

personally for me, i would admit that i am a highly emotional and sensitive person . i cry very easily and it is hard for me to control my emotions in front of others, but what hurts more is that other people say stuff like "WHY ARE U SO WEAK", "JUST STOP CRYING" as this makes me feel that i am just irritating and my emotions are useless to pour yk. i am a cancerian and honestly i hate this trait of mine being "emotional" or "sensitive" as this just makes me look pathetic in front of others

As a young adult making the transition from school to the work world, a video addressing this was NEEDED, ignoring those bad thoughts is EVERYTHING. Thanks for the upload

Trying to understand people by thinking that they are just projecting their bad moods or insecurities on me is calming, but then I’ll just go back with the idea that I will never project my bad moods nor insecurities on others; so maybe they are just really mean.

Oh, yes. Working in customer service will really toughen you up. Also, something that I’m learning is not to hold on so much to either my strengths and weaknesses. Our best will look different every day and accepting this fact will help us move on from various situations easily.

Thank you. I've never heard "have the space to learn to regulate those emotions well is a privilege not everyone gets to have". As an oversensitive and highly emotional 52 yo male, this really helped me. Over empathy is exhausting.

OMG ME me me ME. Ive never met someone more sensitive than me. After some therapy, reading books on letting go of the ego, and lots of exposure, I dont care that much anymore haha. I know now that the situation itself is not as serious as i make it out to be in my head and that it truly is NOT personal. Nothing is ever really personal. Peoples behaviors are a reflection of their perspective and past experiences. One of the most important things ive learned is that everyone is doing the best that they can

Working in retail was one of the best things I ever did in terms of stopping being overly sensitive! As much as it is good to have emotions, it is not good to want to cry every time you receive the slightest criticism!!

Whew!! Your life significantly improves once you get better at not taking things personal. It takes works, but the work is worth it!

You're really really wise at a young age. It took me 40 years to gain this understanding. Thanks for sharing!

ME. EFFING. TOO. I hate work environments so much because of this. I just finished school for real estate and am going in that direction, but I still work in the service industry now and between customers and my coworkers it's so draining. I'm constantly so aware of other peoples micro-expressions and tones etc. And I get so anxious and don't know what to do. I don't want to under react or overreact if someone is genuinely rude or disrespectful to me. I don't know how other people handle that shit so well.

I was a special education teacher and I am now a social worker and being a highly sensitive person made me be mindful of my emotions and my own mindset. It took a lot of working on myself.
