You're wrong. When I had a problem with my Windows machine, Bill Gates DID call me. He told me to unplug my computer, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in, and said that should fix the problem. It didn't, but I didn't have time to worry about it, because I was late for my dinner with the Queen of England. ;D

+1 for the file system. I remember when I learned that about Linux, things got vastly simpler.

A personal story - I first learned of Linux Mint about 27 months ago - most likely on this channel. I was also watching Spatry and Don't Call me Lenny on the first day. But I was hooked as soon as Mint Cinnamon displayed on my machine.

Today, I have 8 man-hours of usage on OpenSuSE Plasma Tumbleweed as my only operating system on that same machine. I have it working fine and did it all on my own, but needed the help of various sources on the web.

It's great to see someone embracing the idea that your computer is under your control. We all want different things from our machines, and Ubuntu gives us the ability to set things up so that you get what you want and I get what I want and that's allowed for both of us. Well said, Joe. And, hi there! Nice work.

My 81 year old mum uses Opensuse Leap 15 and she says she loves it! So much less confusing than the Windows 10 she struggled with before, and so much more stable/secure/speedy too.

Just the kind of video that would be good to show at our next Computer Club meeting to explain WHY Linux.

thank you for another really fine video. I surely can confirm much of what you are saying. I started full time on linux in 2013 after trying linux in dual boot on my old windows mashine and luckily for that since windows gave up on the mashine, but linux was still running fine. So when i bought another mashine (got it build in a shop in Thailand, with the components I had chosen) I installed linux on it. I tried different distros and finally decided to put linux mint matee on it. Most of the problems I had, where solved by searching the community for solutions, and when i finally found your channel, i have watch a lot of your videos. 2 Weeks ago i got the error message that my home directory was full, so i used your video for formatting the harddisk, and now everything is fine. Your video again helped me to get along. thanks for all the time you send to help or educate people like me.

13:00 not using the terminal is like having a V12 in your car and unplugging 8 of the spark plug wires.
