Many of us read the Bible with the intention of learning more about ourselves and how to handle the storms of life. Especially in a generation so focused on our selves and how WE feel. But what would happen if we turned our attention to "how does GOD feel?" What if what you are searching for is only found in the true nature and character of WHO God is? Let's dive in!

As a parent, when we see our children ignore what we tell them for their own good, it causes us pain. We watch them embark on a path that we know they will regret, and it hurts us to see it. God feels the same way because HE is the only source of life. When we depart from Him, it causes Him pain due to His love for us.

We grieve the Lord when we sin, but especially when we turn away and look for answers in the world instead of turning to Him or the Holy Spirit !! The Holy Spirit can actually be quenched when we ignore Him day to day and not letting Him lead us through each day. We should ask Father to fill us with the Spirit before we read the word and before praying. Our God is a jealous God, but he’s only jealous of what we put before Him in our lives. You helped me with my perspective on cherrypicking. I've been in a constant need to do that because of all my health issues, physical, mental and spiritual, to where it seems like most times God helps me is BY cherrypicking just to get me through, and praise God.

But it's a worthwhile goal, for me, to press into books, whole studies--yes, seeking renewal of my faith, my heart and circumstances, putting all that on Him. But to mainly seek His character to be revealed to me, through mutual trust-building, stillness in my relationship with Him... God, I need You ❤

Yes, it’s amazing when The Holy Spirit shares Gods emotions with us. In Chapter 5 verse 15 I had felt Gods sorrow and long suffering within the passage. It was quite a revelation.

“I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.”

Also seeing Gods interaction with mankind in Genesis is a place where God really reveals His nature in an amazing light. His personality really shines through; I especially could see and experience it with His interactions with Abraham. God Bless 🙏🏼.

I just finished Hoshea this morning! I've been reading the Old Testament and New Testament in parallel. For every chapter I read from the Old I read from the New. The parallels area mind blowing!!! I'm still reading the Old Testament all the way through but in that I have read the New Testament twice and just restarted it for the third time round. It is a very fascinating way to read the Bible.
