Hi, OldTechBloke, thanks for the review. The Peppermint Ethos is we don't make software choices for the user. Those Office items are just ICE links and can easily be removed and you can install the Office Software of your choice. Probably the reason why the Software Centre did not find anything, printer wise, is I have found you generally need to do a full update and upgrade before they work fully/correctly. The kernel is coming from the HWE enablement stack. Hope you enjoy it further on real metal.

Nice one OTB;) My first and only Linux experience. Started in 2017 with Peppermint 8, 8 Respin, 9, 9 Respin and currently on Peppermint 10. Absolutely loving it because easy and very quick installation. It's quick and easy to use and very stable. What I also like about Peppermint is that it comes with very little installed. I removed all the games and office stuff because I don't game and don't do office stuff.

Nice review OTB. You mentioned MATE is your desktop of choice. How about a video explaining why and your config preferences? I would certainly be interested. Don't know of any other Linux YouTuber that prefers MATE.

Great review OldTechBloke i am still using Peppermint 9 i have it on a 10 year old dell laptop which as only 2 gigs of ddr2 ram and it runs okay

I have an installed version of Peppermint 10 on a USB thumb drive (not live, but an actual install.) I take it with me to use on other computers.

I nuked a dual boot of Win10 and Mint the other day and just replaced with Peppermint10, working flawless as always. Been using it on & off since version 4, my second favourite distro behind Debian Xfce.

Peppermint ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A smooth transition from Windows 7. The only problem I have had with it is with VLC Media Player, which refuses to remember the selected Audio Output channel, even if configured in the OS, so it has to be re-selected every time in VLC. But it works much faster under Peppermint than Windows 7.

I use Winblows 10 and it is so unstable, how well can you game on Peppermint? I have tried many versions of Linux and seem to get a headache trying to get it working with steam and even then games are not guaranteed to work or my Wifi goes out all the time.

Just found this and you. Subbed. Peppermint is my fave OS at the moment. Mint being my second. Might have ask you a question on why my machine reboots after shutdown . Think it maybe a Bios setting but don't want to mess incase I balls something up. Anyway cheers.

I haven't used Linux much in the past but I seem to remember all that was necessary to install another os was to simply install the diskette for another os. Peppermint does not allow that method. How do I get Peppermint out of my computer?
