1 Peter 3:15 is quickly becoming one of my favorite verses. I keep going back to it in its relevance to defending your faith and understanding the importance of doing so.

These verses are a great reminder that there is a reason for me to share and defend my faith rather than leaving it for someone else to do it. And defending it does not mean it has to offend the other but it can be presented with respect and kindness.

What is key is having a genuine defense that’s rooted in love. A lot of times conversations with differing opinions can turn debative, combative, and in most cases dismissive. Being able to remove from that line of thinking and move into and with grace throughout conversations is pivotal as a believer

These verses definitely help my prospective when it comes to viewing apologetics. I grew up in a school where a lot of kids were into 'debating' the scriptures. I remember debating Calvinism and Arminianism with my classmates, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Instead of focusing on 'winning' arguments, these verses show me that the Bible actually talks about having my conversation be full of grace (Colossians 4:5-6), while still focusing on knowing my stuff to be able to give an answer.

I Peter 3:15 is what I'm working on now with my kids. Always Be Ready. To God be all the Glory. Well done Dr. Rosario. 🌻

its incredible how we can look at the Bible to see how we should do almost everything in our lives. from daily and mundane things to something so important as apologetics. being able to see examples from the Bible like Peter, Jude, Luke, Paul and Jesus we should feel encouraged and inspired to do the same. through these scriptures we can see the way that knowledge and compassion goes hand in hand. Jesus gave so many reasons to believe. Seeing Jesus' works through scriptures gives us confidence in what we believe in

This video serves as a really helpful reference point to show people why we do apologetics today. In my context, especially growing up in an inner city context, it was considered somewhat taboo to enter into debates in this way, rather we were meant strictly to love. These verses show that love, and defending the faith do not need to be mutually exclusive!

1 Peter 3:15, In this, Peter comes to say to be ready to give an answer, make a defense of the faith. I realy appreciated hearing that because often times the faith either gets mis interpreted or also its really hard to defend such cases of such miracles that Jesus did. I have not only come to appreciate apologetics but also archeology because it helps prove just how true of the Messiah, Jesus is. This comes to help me in my personal engagement with the church because it gives me a truth to be able to talk about with others. Thank you for this video!

My favorite of those verses is 1 Peter 3:15. It is just clear, concise and is one thats always been in the back of my mind as an encouragement or motivator to read and understand scripture better. I think I might even add 2 Timothy 2:24-25 to the list of verses. It emphasizes that as Christians we are called to have kind conversations, not quarrelsome arguments...

All the verses were important in preparation to defend the faith. The ones in Peter, Jude and the Acts 17. really stood out.

I especially appreciated Acts 17:2-3 in this video as it highlights the fact that good Apologetics includes reasoning, explaining, and proving together in order to proclaim Jesus to others. This was a reminder to me that although it takes work to pour into relationships, it is always worth it when others come to know Jesus.

One of my favorite verses is Proverbs 25:2. While that doesn’t really support apologetics, it does speak to the excitement and privilege we get in studying the WORD! God is like a good father hiding in plain sight during hide and seek with His beloved kids! How excited we are to find Him! How excited He is to be found! This excitement is contagious as we share the revelations He gives! ❤️

Hey there Dr. Del Rosario! Usually, I listen and study trying to keep in mind how the 1st century reader would have understood the text. But, as we are studying evidence from the apostles perspective like not dying for a lie, I loved your emphasis on Luke’s use of the word “certainty” with Theophilus. I don’t know that I have ever considered that…based on the acct that Luke wrote, he determine Theophilus would see his witness as an absolute certainty, a fact. This wasn’t Paul going to the synagogue to reason with the Rabbis for days to persuade them of the gospel but Luke believed Theophilus could rest without a question after reading his acct that he would have certainty. That blew me away and doesn’t just give me a new perspective but a different emotional state as well as I sit with Luke’s writings. By nature, I am a skeptic and these things bring me comfort. Thanks so much for this one! Small but huge!

1 Peter 3:15 is definitely one of the most standard verses when it comes to apologetics, but it remains my favorite. Making a defense does not require actual defensiveness, and the emphasis on gentleness and respect is something that truly benefits both the speaker, and the listener. I think it’s a great verse to keep in mind when having conversations about the faith.

It is helpful to have a handful of passages to point to when noting the importance of defending the faith. I’m especially fond of 1 Peter 3:15 as it is very clear that we are called to be able to defend what we believe!

I found 1 Peter 3:15 to be especially helpful for my personal life and walk with the Lord. I think it is particularly important to be able to communicate what I believe to my friends and family with gentleness and respect for them and their opinions. Without respect, we cannot gain any ground in our conversations.

Defending the faith is something we may need to do often as believers. Thanks for all the scriptures you shared. I love Jude most.
