2:09 - "This woman isn't exercising her right to choose; instead, God is exercising His right to judge."

Amazing that being against the deliberate killing of defenseless, innocent human life gets you called “anti-choice”.

"Don't you dare say this is out of context" - Looks at context... yeah, it is taken out of context.

Also, even if it was considered an abortion, it is called a curse in the passage. So is she willing to admit that abortion is a curse? (again, that's what the CONTEXT says.)

In Deuteronomy (forget what the actual verse is) it says "If a man strikes a pregnant woman and she miscarries as a result, the man is to be put to death to pay for the life of the child."

So many unbelievers are quick to judge God (the ONLY perfect Being), Who they say doesn't exist, for His decisions, but never question their own choices.

To paraphrase something frank turek says: “if God is the one taking the life, than He isn’t killing people, just changing their location.”

Consider what "out of context" means. Using a verse in context doesn't just mean you simply use 3 or 4 verses in addition to the verse you quote. That works in many cases but context means the circumstances that form the SETTING for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be FULLY understood and assessed.

Sometimes only 3 or 4 verses just doesn't cut it.

Yeah… it’s the last minute most people have trouble with, including a lot of Christians, sadly. For some reason, it doesn’t compute with a lot of people who _claim_ they strive for “justice“ that the creator of *_anything_* can do with it what he wishes, including destroy it if it doesn’t satisfy.
_(Of course, the real reason people hate that is because they hate the idea of anything other than themselves having control or a say over their life.)_

I’ll always stop what I’m doing to watch a new RPL video! Keen ‘em up!

"Don't you dare tell me I'm taking this out of context!"
Mr. B: "Oh, I dare. In fact, I'll tell you you're taking this out of translation, too, and missing the larger scope of the entire teaching."

I would like to add that however you interpret the words, the text is clear that this was meant to be a punishment. Quite disgusting that someone would twist the text to say that the woman wanted this to happen to her.

People take all religious books out of context and then always proceed to say "Don't say I took it out of context"

Loved that close up by the end. May the Lord guide our hearts to what The Bible truely brings us.

She sounds like someone who only picked up a Bible yesterday, and has no desire to question history, language, or apologetics. Taking things at face value only.
Very nice Mic Drop, Mr. B.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to correct people on this. I wish people were more careful with the information they spread, especially surrounding the Bible. They’ve clearly just heard it from someone else and are parroting it without actually checking whether that’s what it really says

I feel it's pretty frickin' obvious that the text isn't saying, "abort the baby, " but rather, "render her child bearing capabilities useless, " since there's no indication she's with child at the time and the last lines she reads confirms that otherwise it would likely say, "and allow her to bear any children she has, " or something like that.

Thank you for this teaching. My high school aged daughter was confronted by a person who held the same position as the tik tokker. She, the student, didn’t give a verse but said the Bible supports abortion. My daughter knew that couldn’t be right because she was aware of the passages that proclaim the sanctity of life. Now I can give her this explanation.

There is far more to that passage than meets the eye. Remember, this starts with a man who *suspects* his wife is unfaithful. He doesn't actually have proof. Looking at the context of the time period, this jealous husband could have her stoned to death, or otherwise harmed. Instead, he is told to go to the priest, who mixes up something that probably tastes bad, but can't actually harm her. If nothing happens, that woman's life may well have been saved from a jealous husband. Because it's God that makes the judgement, if nothing happens, the jealous husband can't keep accusing his wife of adultery, because God just made it clear she is innocent. The husband is in the wrong with his jealousy and suspicions. If something does happen, well, that's the curse from God, and the jealous husband *still* can't harm her, because God has already punished her.
