My two fingers are always covering the brakes and the clutch. Just something I've always done.

This is actually one of those tips I naturally started doing without even thinking about it, but it’s awesome to now know that my adaption to this tip was and is Valid. Thanks MJ.

Great tip !
I've been riding for over 50 yr.s & am a former AMA racer & SCCA, IMSA driving instructor .
I always ride with 1 finger on the front brake & 1 finger on the clutch.
Its also nice to have 1 finger levers & braking systems & quick shifters 😎

I've always done this intuitively since i started riding. Saved me a bunch of times.

I took my MSF after riding dirty for a year. My MSF coaches yelled at me the whole time for using two fingers 😂. They want you to use all four in the course.

I keep my two fingers like this most of the time, especially at intersections and corners. Saved me from a crash last year. Around a corner, a car pulled right in front of me. It was so fast. I instinctively braked to almost a stop. After my heart started beating again, I realized that it's all on the front brake. My foot could not even reach the rear brake pedal. The reaction on the front was that fast. I should have ideally used the rear brake as well. But that's not needed. Thanks to all the parking lot practice, I think I squeezed the brake progressively.

BRAVO!!! EVERYONE SHARE THIS VIDEO!! I have it as an instint that also when you go in traffic and cities do the same thing!! You can'timagine how many people that make accidents and bike is sliding because of the rear brake, but then you see that they are not even using the front Brake. And as @MotoJitsu TWO FINGERS!! With the other three you are still holding the Bike!! GOOD, this might save a lot of bikers in your country!!!

That mili second difference can mean the difference between life and death. Quick unexpected reactions cause many errors, the best way to tackle such a problem is that advice given right there! Best prepare for the unexpected! Thumbs up my brother👍🏾

I started doing this naturally when I started riding two summers ago. It's deer country out here in Michigan.

I ride in LA... I ALWAYS have two fingers on the brake.

I have 2 fingers covering the brake and 3 covering the clutch 99.9% of the time. Feels natural that way for instinctual self preservation.

Anyone who ignores this practical and excellent advice elevates the risk of a serious accident... even if by a fraction. And this vital tip could well be the very single action between you and the grave. Just say'n!

Probably the best tip I’ve heard. Appreciate all you share man.

i always have my hand covering the brake when moving, mostly because i don't trust anyone on the road, and i'd rather instantly be able to brake instead of frantically trying to reach it quickly.

if someone hasn't been doing all their life and suddenly start doing this, def adjust levers too or your fingers will get tired really quickly if you are not used to it. and its much easier if you always have gloves on.

I'll do this all the time, even prepared with clutch or when is scooter with rear brake

I used to ride back in India and recently got back on the saddle for an msf course in canada. First thing they teach is not to cover your clutch and brakes!! Lots of unlearning to do that day! I come here and see how it makes so much sense to have that finger hovering over brakes to give it a light tap!! Thanks for this !
