The Volkswagen Tiguan is back in facelifted avatar. It's got a new look, new engine and reverts back to the original Tiguan's 5 seat arrangement. Gavin D'Souza tells you what it's like.

I have been using the vw Tiguan 2017. Great car, ergonomics, driving pleasure, great engine, fuel economy off 12 to 14 kms per litre. The negatives include the type of cheap so called leather used. The covering of the arm rest begins to crack up with time like degrading plastic. Because it's not leather. It's some cheap material. VW service first accused me of first cutting it up with s sharp object. Then on persistent follow up, the agreed to replace it on a cost sharing basis. But now they say there is no stock. I realise that they do not care for a customer who paid 42 lacs for this same car 5 years ago. So all the above goodies remains the same, instrument cluster is enhanced, added lot more bling, but the "leather" on the arm rest remains the same. There is no mention of fuel economy, No 360 degree view, no wireless charging, no wireless Android auto. I still enjoy driving this beautiful car but the leather used spoils the interior. That is disappointing. And further more, complaints are first brushed off and then lip service for persistent customers. This saga is going on for a year now.

One must have feature at this price that this car is missing especially in India is ventilated seats.

I Still think that thee MOST VFM VW car is T-Roc . Its packs up everything but sadly cant pack a lot of sales number .

I have no words to describe the thinking of brand team at VW, Tiguan diesel, Tiguan Allspace, Tiguan new (Petrol), and then Taigun.
As a allspace owner (looks like it is going to be collectors' edition now...), everytime I call the dealer for service they say "sir, aapke Taigun ka...", and I am like no, it is not Taigun, it is Tiguan allspace (supposed to be of the BMW X1 league), then they're like sorry sir "Taigun Allspace ke..."

Drive a 2020 Tiguan Diesel, and boy is the drive quality amazing! If you are shopping int he 30 lakhs segment, can't think better value for money

Hello.
I recently test drove both Tiguan and the Kodiaq. Though both cars are looking good over the tarmac, the price difference is pretty significant. While Kodiaq is a 7 seater ( last row strictly limited to kids), tiguan on the other hand feels premium when you are in the front seats with whole bunch of feature the rear on the Tiguan feels a bit bland. The only put off in the Tiguan is the heated seats which is total flop for a country like ours.
So which one would you recommend over the two? Your suggestion would prove helpful in making a decision.

Too pricey. 5 lacs less would have made some sense. No ventilated seats is also a deal breaker. Lack of 360 degree view is also a let down at this price. Older alloys looked much better

Wow this car is simple but beautiful and practical both inside and outside
