In this video, we will show you how to create and save custom mixer settings (also known as scenes) on the Zoom LiveTrak L-12.

Hi everyone, this is John from Zoom and I'm here to show you how to create and save your custom mixer settings on the LiveTrak L-12.

The L-12 allows you to save up to 9 different scenes which save fader position, EQ settings, effects, pan, mute, and more.

Saving scenes streamlines your workflow, so you can mix and record with ease. You can save a scene for each song of your live show, eliminating the need to adjust levels in between songs. And if you often mix the same band, it can be helpful to recall a saved scene for a quicker sound check.

To save a scene, press the Scene ON button to enable. Pressing the Save button will light any slot with a previously saved scene, while empty slots will blink. Select the desired slot and your scene will be saved.

To recall a scene, press the Recall button. Select the desired slot and this scene will be recalled. Your fader level and other scene settings will update automatically. The LED meters will show the fader level of the recalled scene. If you would like to adjust the fader level, the volume will not change until the fader is moved to the same position.

Just a few notes about Scenes on the L-8. Not sure if the same limitation apply to the L-12.
Projects only save one set of mixer settings; Master, A, B, C, etc.
Scenes are saved with the console, but are *not* saved with the Project to the SD Card.
If you load a Project, and then load a Scene, the mixer settings from the Scene will supercede the mixer settings from the Project.
If you turn off the console via the switch on the back, the mixer settings loaded by the Scene will overwrite the Project settings. If however you eject the SD Card before turning off the console, the Project settings will be preserved.
Scenes cannot be deleted without resetting the console to factory settings.
(LiveTrak L-8 firmware 1.12)

How do I turn off the fader memory feature? It's annoying to have to slide past a memorized position to get the fader to activate. Anyone know?

Is there any way to export the saved saved scene/s or alternately format the SD CARD to enable > 1 group of nine scenes? The only method I can see would be to use a new SD CARD for each set of scenes required, since the present firmware appears to restrict to one group of nine per card regardless of project name/folders used etc.

Pretty easy, but far from the features, a bigger digital console could do.
But when I have a concert with 3 or 4 bands, this could help, to be able to store the status from the sound check.
Sometimes, they may play with 2 guitars or with piano and guitar or so.

Audio drops out briefly when I recall any scene. It’s very annoying in live shows. Is this a technical limitation or is my unit faulty?

Love my new Zoom L-12. Is there anyway I can export the SAVED SCENES to the hard dive or my computer so I can use it on a different Zoom? Tall order...I know.

Hello! My name is Marian Maxim and I am from Romania. A few years ago I bought the Zoom Live Trak L-12 model. Please help me with a problem, namely. After I save a scene and turn off the mixer, at the opening I don't remember the settings I saved in that scene. What can I do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

Dear Zoom, how do I bounce tracks on the L-12? Thank you.

how come scene recall is so slow? this device can handle dozens of audio channels in real time, but it takes almost a second to twist some knobs and mute some channels… what a pity

Hello John, first - thanks for that video. I have a question about the effects section of the L-12 Livetrack mixer.
For example, if I want to use the "Hall1" effect for the first three channels (vocals) and want to use the "Room1" effect for channels 3-5 (instruments) - this is then also saved in the Scene - if I do it save - so far everything is clear. But what strikes me is the fact that the effect no longer switches to "Hall1" if I switch from channel 5 (Room1) to channel 2 (Hall1), for example. That would mean that I can't set a separate effect for each channel, only the intensity of the effect. I can't use ROOM1 separately for the guitar channel and HALL1 for the vocals. Am I correct or am I making a mistake? Many thanks in advance and best regards - Stefan
