Shouldn't we all agree that, these days, NO RIDE should pay a driver less than $5.00?

I quit uber about a year ago once I figured out that Uber was stealing my tips. Lyft ain't great either, I'm currently building a business that will get me out of this unprofitable driveshare scam permanently. I suggest you make a plan to actually have a life.

I totally agree with your assessment. But I am just pissed with both. Rideshare has turned into modern day slave work.

They both screw you over but lyft kisses you first

I like driving for Lyft, I feel more relaxed. All your points are valid. Driving for Uber is EXTREMELY stressful!

I'm driving for both. Like you, I can't stand the constant trip radar requests, and the destination filter for going home is a joke. This morning, Uber said going 15 minutes in the wrong direction was on my way home! Lyft also has its issues. This morning, my rider was going from her hotel to a restaurant. It was a $5.75 trip. After we left the pickup spot, she added a second destination, the airport, which was in the opposite direction. So my ride distance and time DOUBLED, and Lyft did not adjust my fare at all. I complained multiple times via the app and kept getting the same responses. It was so infuriating. They finally got tired of me and gave me $5 as a "one time courtesy". lol... Bottom line, I've found Uber passengers tip more frequently, so that ends up being a bit more lucrative.

Living in Houston TX, I have worked for ride-sharing companies. They don’t pay you! The pay is so low that it doesn’t even cover the gas and the depreciation cost of the car. It’s a scam!

For a $9.25 ride, would you drive for 45 minutes, wasting gas and depreciating your car (tires, oil, maintenance, adding all those miles), and on top of that, at the end of the year, you pay 25-30% in taxes?

So if we do the math, you made
$4.5 in 45 minutes.

It’s a scam; steer clear of them.

Worst part about lyft is that they force you to call in order to cancel AND that they block you from texting if you're going more than 5mph. I can't stand that feature.

I use Lyft more too. I like that most rides are closer to you than Uber trying to send you out for miles to the pick up. Uber’s trip radar is like a baby that won’t stop crying and I’m tired of being the baby sitter. I don’t know how they thought this was a good idea or how they get away with this feature legally

My biggest problem with Lyft is the way rides drop off after you accept them when you are completing a ride.

Lyft shows what the passenger paid after completing the ride. That's a big plus!

I agree with your assessments. I much prefer Lyft but they are just not as busy as Uber so I continue to multi-platform

In Denver, Uber usually pays better than Lyft. Tips are also much higher with Uber customers. Lyft destination filter works much better than Uber.

*Lyft is much more transparent.

*Lyft is busier in my market(Tampa)

*less instant cashout.

*the $8 bonus hours per ride when they are offered.

*longer offer time

* Kick back when I don't get my 70%.

The bad*

*People are cheap on Lyft. Less tips.

*Airport rides aren't as profitable, and the Lyft's version of trip radar at the airport pay is garbage and not as many as Uber.

* I'll get more ride offers(trip radar) at the airport from Uber. I do give Lyft rides at rhe airport but not as much

I drive for both and I hate that radar with a passion because I could sit there for a half an hour and 15 radar request come through and I hit them all and get none of them. That’s why I’ve started driving Uber lessand Lyft more.

I always use Stay in Area. I stay in the suburbs but I set my radius at 10. Also, if my “Last Ride” is at the maximum miles (10) I change to “Head to Destination” with my home as the destination.

Yes Lyft pays per ride better than Uber, but. In my area at least one can't stay busy enough with just Lyft. It's one $10 lyft ride vs 3 or 4 $5 Uber rides
