You can tell that these are meant to slowly ease newcomers into everything, getting more complicated as you go along. It’s a nice touch.

Getting in the lore & history of Warhammer more right now & so glad you showed the starter magazine + mini as it seems great for me to learn more as I didn't know it was a thing until now. Thanks!!

After getting both the GW Getting Started magazines (Warhammer 40k & Age of Sigmar), the new edition has 2 minis in each of them.

One big standout reason to get Getting Started Age of Sigmar issue is it has a twice as many pages on painting & building minis as the 40k magazine (like 20 pages vs 10 pages). So glad I got both, even if I lean more to 40k, I've learned a lot from the Age of Sigmar magazine. Also seeing some of the painted large minis just look amazing. Good luck everyone getting into all things Warhammer!!

I really like these magazines for beginners. I try not to miss any such book with miniatures. My favorite, however, was for Warhammer Äge of Sigmar 2.0. There was a character - Knight-Incantor. And the book was translated into my native language!

So I'll even buy such a book for the Horse Heresy, although I don't want to collect it. I hope there will be some neutral Space Marines.
After all, these are the few "limited" miniatures that I can afford to buy in these grimdark times.

With the world being all kinds of screwed up it warms my heart that GW finally got their shit together all 'round. Looks like really good beginner products and starter boxes!

the first strike box is great deal it worth buying just to boost your army. and it includes the new reviers. this is very clever of GW, a table wargame without all the prep just need to push miniatures together and your done.

should I thank or curse you after buying the starter set because of this video? :)

One thing I've never understood with 40k is this: is each model in the game meant to represent just one "soldier", or do the models ideally they stand in for more? I think in the old Fantasy Battle it was the latter.

Aren't the marines at 7:10 kinda purple? They should be blue...
Also it would be amazing to see the comparisson between "first strike death guard" and "know no fear death guard"

Great video. I just wanted to know if the nurgle figures in the small box are repeats from Dark Imperium or different sculpts?

Awesome, these always seem to be difficult videos for some reason.

Hey Joel, thanks for the info. I have only played Dawn of War 1 so I have a few questions here: how about the start collecting boxes? and what if I prefer other schemes say Imperial fists, how do I "convert" them?

Is Warhammer 40k possible to play solo? I really like the look and feel of the hobby but work and other things would keep me from meeting up w people to play.
It looks like it could be played solo.

I'd like to try this and treat it as a boardgame. Is the box itself flimsy or durable? can everything fit back in the box?

How should I continue after buying first strike and starting book? Should I buy paints or rules book. Because on christmas im going to buy Know no fear.

This is late but do you have a link to the getting started magazine with the ultra marine? Cause I can’t find it on the games Workshop website

First, Thank you for doing the review. I have enjoyed you miniatures reviews, Frostgrave, etc. Do you know if they will be doing sets like these in a fantasy setting? I wish you would have made GenCon because I would have enjoyed your take on Star Wars: Legion
