I don't think that in a timeline with a CATHOLIC Japan&China and an Armada above water, the British Empire could have ever existed. This would probably also change who colonized North America. I'd say the west coast would have probably remained Spanish while the East coast would have primarily been some kind of French and Dutch project.

To say that only the destruction of the armada and Hydeoshi's actions were the cause for abandoning this endeavour is biased. A faction within the Jesuit order itself was against this idea because it would have meant the forced conversion of a people who were considered to be already civilised, which would have contradicted the peaceful preaching that the company had been trying to achieve in China for decades, side that they opposed this plan saying that it was just imperialism with a pious cloak

I don't watch much alternative history, but a timeline where Spain conquered China would be very interesting.

If this plan had succeeded, the world’s history would have been much more different. Just imagine…
- Chinese civil war between 50 different factions, with each faction adopting a (slightly) different version of the Bible.
- The fall of the Chino-Spaniard Empire and the rise of the Brita-Franco Kingdom.
- World War I between the IndoChina Republic, Russia, and Europe Coalition in order to decide the dominant branch of Christianity.
- War World 2 between the Christian world and the Buddhism-Islamic alliances.
- The birth of the first Altheist dynasty in Africa.
- The 100-year war between North America Holy Federation and the South America Divine Union

And so on.
