It's a long video today! 😅 Let's start construction on the cook binder journals. Today I use Tyvek, fabric, and fabric washi (carpet tape) to bolster the spine.
Here is the blog with the tutorial that I reference:

I love these! I have one that was Grandmother's from the 1956. Very well used and loved. TFS because I want to do this.

Can't wait to see what you do with all these! Going to try to craft along with you. I have wanted to to do this for so long for my own junk book. Found a 1953 BHG cookbook but now the question is do I make it just for a cookbook or a home/cooking/sewing/farmers junk journal...we shall see where it takes me. 😊 Great way to reinforce the spine! Love it!

I did a ring bound cookbook journal for Christmas last year. I did a flip through video. I am in process of doing 2-3 more! I have never see that BC picture cook book before!!! I love it!! I love the strawberry and patchwork fabrics for the BHG cookbooks. I love the yellow on the green one! Looking forward to seeing these develop ❤❤❤ At Dollar Tree the Poster Board Glue by beacon is exactly the same as Fabritac! Thanks for showing how to shore up the spine!!! Hugs❤❤

I’m only 20 min in this video but if I don’t comment now I’ll forget what I’m gonna say 😂 that bright yellow with the red and white daisies you showed right before the quilt top one is pretty with the green or red book!! and then that red fabric with the blue roses!! These are going to be so pretty! My sister, mom and I have said we’re going to make cookbook albums for literally over 15 years now 😂 maybe this will inspire us for a winter project! ❤

I have 3 of the vintage B C cook books, including one that was my mothers. I plan on keeping hers and making journals out of the other 2.

Yellow fabric with white daisies would look awesome on the green book. Love the large strawberry fabric or the quilted piece for a spine also. All of the fabric is great. Can't wait to see what the finishing books will be. Great books! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the additional videos. Happy Crafting

MEG ☺️OH MY GOODNESS…thank YOU for all the wonderful things you said about my cookbook journal. I’m literally stunned and I want to just run around right now yelling out “Meg @chasingretro likes my journal”! But since I’m sitting in the dentist office waiting for my husband to finish with his appt. I’ll contain myself.

My vote is to definitely use that yellow fabric with white daisies in at least one of the journals. That fabric is yummy!!! They really kind of all are. Also the quilted piece is my other choice. Love ALL your selections so I know you will pick something perfect.

Ok can we just talk about this video for a sec? Thank you so much for this tutorial and for being so real. You have a gift and to share that in an instructional format is very special Meg. Also to be so honest about your own apprehension helps so many like me to know it’s ok. I LOVE this video friend!

You have a special gift with explaining things, Meg. The fabric selections are great. The strawberry one is one I think would look awesome with the check board one. Is fabri fix and fabri tac different glues? 😅 hopefully that isn’t a dumb question. Finally, love the vintage red ric rac. One of my favorite decorative pieces, in my favorite color. ❤
