Tesla currently buys LFP batteries for their standard range vehicles & Megapacks from CATL and BYD, but reportedly as a part of the Giga Nevada expansion, Tesla will be setting up their own LFP battery manufacturing space with help from CATL.

I doubt that BYD or CATL would provide Tesla with the means to make their own cells that match the best and latest LFP designs - even for license fees. However, I would expect Tesla would find a ready use for less energy-dense early LFP cell designs in MegaPacks and Powerwalls. Smart move.

My largest concern is quality control. Since they are making their own batteries they now have every incentive to make them as cheaply as they possibly can

I'm not anti Tesla. But read the papers, people. Tesla may have to recall almost 100 % of their cars because some emergency light is too small.

I worried bout the fires they somehow burst into for no raisin & how there harder to fight! Fix tht, maybe im sold! But im gas all the way, the world will correct itself if need be
