The Strip Squares Quilt Tutorial - Easy and Fast to Make!

We recently received a bundle of 3 yards of beautiful fabric from Cotton Cuts and our goal was to use as much of it as possible. So naturally we decided on a quilt. However, we only had a short time frame to do it all so we had to skip the step where we make a prototype first and instead we did it on the fly and made it as we were filming. Fortunately it turned out. With this method, you won’t need to cut lots of squares and rectangles making it super quick to make.

Really like the quilt. It makes sense to engineer all patterns to find shortcuts as you showed. It makes all the difference in the world in the amount of time spent cutting and sewing.

Just had a thought - how about using charm squares for the colored blocks (and possibly for the white/light blocks if charm packs can be found or cut white/light layer cakes into 4 5” blocks). I also found a tub I have with many Mini Charm Packs for the corner stones - I would just need to cut strips for the sashing and for the first border.

I loved the fact you showed us that you had to take apart. The one square so that everything was lined up right. I'm a brand new quilter, and it's nice to see that even people as good as you are also make mistakes and they're easy to fix. Just wanted to say thank you for the video. I watched it several times and thought I can do that.... this is my first quilt. Many times I have tried but they never came out or I couldn't get the hang of the pattern. This was easy to understand and easy to complete!!! I was going to add a photo... but don't know how.
