I used 2 yards each of light & dark fabric to make this 60" x 45" Quilt. You should even have enough fabric left over for a binding! Fabric links below.

how do you end the looked at the finished product and it looks unbalanced because you have one side light color and the other am thinking of going with a boarder color all the way around it any suggestions?

Don't know if you have said where you are going yet. I just saw this Sailor's Song. My husband is retired Navy and I showed it to him. I will probably make this for him for Veterans Day. We went to the Bahamas on a quick cruise. You did a great job describing and the quilt is very attractive.

The quilt looked great in all the lay-outs. I like the fabrics too. The US Virgin Islands. There was a lot to pick from, so I thought it was fun plus I didn’t want to choose an island someone already picked. Wishing you a wonderful week and have a wonderful vacation, 🥰 Chris

Thank you so much for this pattern. In a couple of months, my daughter will retire from the Navy after 30 years of dedicated service. I’ve been looking for a design that was unique and appropriate for months. I will be making it in navy and white with a small accent of gold secondary border. Not sure how I will manage that border yet though. Thanks again.

Hi there and happy birthday! I think you two might be going to St. Martin because you can visit TWO countries on one island. If you aren't going to an island but to a country with a Caribbean coast, you might be going to Costa Rica.

Are you going to Jamaica? By the way, I really appreciate that you show us the different options for laying out your blocks.

Thanks 🙏🏼 for this fun and easy to follow tutorial. I’m watching it 11 months after posting. I couldn’t find the answer to your vacation riddle. I’m curious as to where in the Caribbean did you go, to Aruba? Congratulations on your anniversary ❤️ may you celebrate many more 🙏🏼

St Martin was my favorite island. Enjoy your time together.

I had a problem making this quilt just from the tutorial so I purchased the pattern. It was easy to follow and helped a lot until I got to squaring the blocks at the end. In the tutorial you show squaring a block, then turning it to square the other side. However the pattern only calls for squaring one side of a block. Which way should I make the blocks? Thank you.
