On the subject of fish and fish oils. I've got a black cat who has been suffering with the most awful dreadful skin allergy really really bad and vet could not work out what it was - tried all sorts nothing worked apart from big doses of steroids. Been giving her a large dose of salmon oil every day for the past 2 months or so and her allergy has almost cleared up, her fur is looking gorgeous and has almost regrown and she is finally starting to look like the beautiful black shiny girl that she is supposed to be.

Here’s a handy tip for those who can’t bring themselves to express those glands and don’t like having to take the dog to the vet to (temporarily) rectify the problem… put whole flaxseeds in their food! The flaxseed has a tough outer layer that doesn’t get digested, keeping the seed in its whole state. As they pass through the dog’s rear opening, they press on the anal glands, gently expressing them while the dog does its business. There’s no mess, no fuss, no having to damage your relationship with your dog, no more fishy smell and your pooch won’t have to excessively lick the area… or do the dreaded “bum drag” on the lawn… or on your carpets! 😉❤️

I kept getting that fishy smell with my terrier cross. He was playing with my grandson one day and we heard a loud yelp. I don't know if he'd fallen onto his butt or if it had just emptied itself but we had a pool of fish smelling clear liquid on the floor. Now a few months later we're smelling it again which brought me to this video. Thankyou for showing us how to do it x

ROFLOL. Tula is the greatest. Laughed too much to hear the Doc and had to re-watch. My dog likes to come into the house smelling like he rolled around in something dead, but there's never anything dead to find in the yard. What causes this and how do I fix it? He's a Lhasa Apso.
