ABRAXAS, God, and The Devil - The Seven Sermons of Carl Jung (Sermon 2)

preview_player
Показать описание
Sermon 2 begins with a question which alludes to the work of Friedrich Nietzsche,

"Is God dead?"

Carl Jung then provides a sermon on God, the Devil, and Abraxas...3 important aspects in creation.

While the dead were interested in God, Jung takes them a step higher. This and the next sermon highlight this figure or image, Abraxas.

In this video, we will touch upon many topics found in Jungian psychology; including the collective unconscious, the sub-conscious, consciousness, shadows, libido, emotions e.g. fear, the duality of good and evil, individuation, and much more.

Please feel free to add more information/opinion in the comments!

In the next sermon, Abraxas' nature is expanded on. I hope you enjoy...

What do you think about Sermon 2? Is the ancient Greek-Jung connection starting to come to light?
I'll be looking out for your comments below!

I was encouraged to pursue the Golden Mean, the Middle Way, through therapy in the 1980’s.
My therapist was quite Freudian/Buddhist, which was a strange & interesting amalgamation of insight and inspiration.
He encouraged non-attachment and non-judgement.
Now more than 30 years later I could not be more grateful for his teachings.
Being encouraged to seek out more of what repelled me, angered me, frightened me, etc., and to avoid over-identification with any idealized state of being was challenging, and supportive of acceptance of what Is.
Rudolph Steiner encourages, “Neither sympathy or antipathy, ” in response to what presents itself in this reality.
Ralph’s encouragement was, “Learn your lessons and have fun!”
It was excellent advise.

I've gained so much from this Channel and from Jung through it. I took a psychology class in HS, & had to take two Psych classes in college and we barely touched on anything about Jung post 1913. The sad part about that is, I believe, his best work (at least most important spiritually) was when he was working on the Black and Red Books, The Sermons to the Dead, & his other works around this time in Jung's life.
Thank you so much, for you have wisdom beyond your years. Your channel found me during a time in my own personal hell, unaware of any long-term way to get out. Things are getting better, but I need to incorporate this wisdom to the best of my abilities in all areas of my life to find TRUE solace & happiness. This particular video is one of my favorites, it introduces Abraxas. Without knowing who/what this is we stay on our karmic wheel, stuck in duality. ALSO, Thanks for ALL your time & effort. I'm looking forward to the next one... After this comment I'm jumping right in to the 3rd Sermon. Again, ty, , , You are a remarkable person who has and continues to guide me on my journey. Much blessings- Love & Light¡

Wow. At 11 minutes in I get it. It finally hit me after years of searching. Plurality, to understand God, to KNOW Theous-Hypsistos, you must accept the love and fear, the good and evil, the one and many. The Bible, old and New Testament is an allegorical painting of this wisdom. I’m speechless. Thank you so much for shedding light on this book. I’m infatuated with it.

Abraxas a Gnostic diety, God as a totality; Coniunctio.

I am the LORD, and there is no other.
I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD, do all these thing —Isaiah 45:7

God as a totality is unfathomable to the limitations of a fragmented mind. Perhaps this is the allegory of The Fall, the separation, the exile from wholeness. If one cannot understand the unity of opposites in oneself, one cannot and will not be able to understand it in God.

In Psychological alchemy, the unity of opposites within the psyche is paramount for the transmutation from a fragmented form to one that is complete within the mind; wholeness. The fragments of psyche manifest in the Zeitgeist of a dead God. We are here.

Thank you for your work 🙏 I appreciate you.
