i am absolutely HAPPY with this hotfix. the statements from SDF are something honest and thoughtful that we as a community have been looking for since the beginning. i really hope they keep this up and stop beating around the bush with the community at large. just tell us you messed up, and move forward. the experiment was very fun while it lasted and i'm sad that i wont be able to grind for my special multiclass builds anymore, but i do admit it will be much better going back to basics for the time being. map rotation is HUGE and anybody who has an objection to this, isnt someone who should have a say in it. everybody wants to be able to have variety in their games and not be stuck to a specific map for months on end. HUGE W on this one guys!

I haven’t played in a long time but multi classing made me rethink coming back. It was such a terrible update.

The problem with a Talent based system is that abilities down the talent tree are inherently more powerful than the ones earlier since they require more investment. However that doesn't go well with the current system of "equip 4 perks and 2 skills" because the whole point of this system is that all perks should be equally good in their optimal scenarios to create the most amount of diverse viable playstyles.
Not to mention the filler nodes in talent trees are just bad. Thinking of World of Warcraft talent trees, it was like 1 meaningful upgrade every 15 levels, and between those 15 levels you get the mostly meaningless +1% damage x5 talent nodes that might aswell not exist.
I feel like the current system of "equip the perks and skills you want up to a limit and build your own class within the limits" is perfectly fine, however for this system to truly shine we just need more options, some of the options balanced, and we need those options to not just be flat power upgrades, but rather utility changes that allow you to play a different way. Perks that are just like +x amount of damage no matter what should be dumpstered. When you equip a perk it should change the way you play somehow, like creep, counter attack, slayer, etc. Something that changes your playstyle in order to reap the benefits of the perk, instead of just being a straight upgrade that comes into play no matter how you play in every situation.

my big problem with this is the last like 4 patches have been tweaks and adjustments based on mutli-classing now they are removing it. Are they just gonna keep all these weird stats changes like EG: blow of corruption/dark refection are gonna be shit when warlock goes back to having 0 move speed skills/perks and no staff mastery

Happy Birthday! I personally like the nameplates being back, and for someone who plays primarily solo, it would be nice to hit up Ruins without having to worry about full teams.

Honestly thank God I was having fun with multiclassing but it was making certain classes way to powerful

Its the right direction, thats all that matters. Alot of these number tweeks should have been done along time ago, I feel like every veteran knew about those spells/skills and how busted they were for a while. Ambush changes needed to happen the day mc released, BoC took 3 patches but every veteran player knew that it was allways the +mdmg/+mdmg bonus scaling and not the base stat thats the problem. I just hope they are still playing DaD from time to time, cause the updates seem way more out of touch than they did in early playtests.

Multi class brings problems, maybe we could have a common pool of new perks that every class could pick from. Mobility stuff or some cool medieval/fantastic actions that could add to the emergent situation possibilities. (As in pick pocket or anything that adds to more creative play styles/light-roleplay, rather than always pvp pvp pvp.) I’d love for them to explore that side more!

Problem with work yourself forward is, that you work to something and before you get to it, it gets nerfed for example. I mulitclassed ranger with rogue and tried to get ambush and hide to do a oneshot kombo (yes its broken), I got unlucky multiple times and could not get hide. Then it got nerfed and everything was for nothing. Sucked hard. Poisoned archer was not really viable eather because smite also did not work with ranger anymore. If I would have to grind then it gets nerfed i would quit probably....
