Very helpful video! Helpful to the point that I now know this is beyond my ability to fix on my own lol.

Very nice and professionally done video. Wish had added the type of ranch with their MML so could have figured out if I have these. Thanks

I don't know about the 1998, or the 2000-2002 models, but the axle nut on a 1999 Accord LX takes a 36 mm axle nut socket. In another video that I came across, the mechanic said it was a 35 mm. WRONG. It takes a 36 mm socket for a 1999 model. My thanks to the sales clerk at the Hixson, TN, O'Reilly Auto Parts for saving me the big headache of getting the car on stands only to discover that the 35 mm socket that I almost bought for the job is the wrong size. So, be sure you have the right size socket to remove and replace the axle nut.

Thank you so very much for the warning that the removal of the upper control arm could cause irreparable damage. You didn't even mention that you had changed yours out

The shot of removing the axle with the crowbar is actually for the passenger side video. You can find the correct shot on that video

How much would it cost approximately to replace this axle? Can they just replace the boot? My boot is leaking. Thanks!

I've changed all the ball joints on my 98, I Highly recommend using hand tools to take all nuts off all balljoints when taking them off, because if you use a air gun and the ball starts spinning its a bitch to get the nut off with a power tool, so use a socket and long ratchet buy a 22inch or longer to help you lossen nuts budd has a 30"long ratchet it's great, you don't kill yourself getting the nuts loses. I think I paid 23$ for a 2foot long ratchet, it's great for these jobs, on that damn axle nut a 3foot one would be great, a big floor jack handle makes a great breaker bar if you put it on the end of a 2 foot ratchet, just did this 3 days ago.air tools tighten nuts way too much, torque on axle nut. Is 143 lbs

Man don't envy you having to work on something that rusty. Nice video though.

LOL, you should have put the Loctite on after you drove the bolt through. 😂

You skipped the step that on your removal and reassembly that you unbolted the outer tie rod in order for the knuckle to swing out as much as it did to get the CV axel in and out.

you skipped the step where you released the fastener for the outer tie rod end

min 4:27 i think you mean 47 ft lbs, not 119. , Please correct this; it's damaging my car, and it will damage other people's cars, too.
