It would help if you would mention the size of the nuts and bolts you're working with as you show them. I'm trying to gather this info as I have to put my tools in the backpack then ride an hour away on a motorcycle to work on my sister's car. Knowing exactly what tools to bring will help.

Pretty good video but I wish you would have done the axle seal too. Got that notorious leak and it ran pretty low on trans fluid. Think if I fix the leak I can just fill her and it'll be alright?

FYI- you do NOT need to loosen/remove the lower ball joints to do this. Not sure why they showed him tightening these as he didn’t loosen them on camera.

Awesome job, but is it true when changing one side that you must change both sides?

Thank you so much, but one question? I was told when changing one of the axles that you have to change both is that true?

Thank you this is very informative. I can diagnose problems easily but I've not learned much about actually fixing them. Unless the part is plug-and-play, lol.

One question though won't the impact over torque your bolts which defeats the purpose of using the torque wrench after? That purpose being to prevent the over-torquing of bolts in the first place. This was never well explained to me in my semester of automotive technology, so the question isn't meant as an offense. I'm genuinely curious about how it all works.

Is it necessary to “preload the ball joints” by playing a jack underneath the knuckle and raising it up to normal level, and then applying proper torque? Or is it fine to let them hang

Why did you torque the lower ball joint? You didn’t loosen it in the first part of the video. Was that a mistake or did you just not show it in the first part? I just want to know if it is necessary to loosen lower bolts.

Anyone know where to find the seal? I can only find rear seals. I bought a Timken seal (223750) from Amazon that claimed to be for the front but it was way smaller than the seal on my fusion…

Pro Tip; Use a small C-Clamp to hold the pads together near the bottom while inserting the expander springs and as you install the caliper. Install the caliper at the top bolt first and then hinge it down over the pads removing the clamp once the caliper prevents their movement. Thank me later
