Pre ordered Hyrule Warriors for Switch even though I have the Wii U version...

The only other Wii U game I see myself Double Dipping with on Switch is Xenoblade Chronicles X so I can finally finish it xD

Man I already double dipped on this game and bought all the dlc. I really wish they had offered a discount if you already had the game. Even a 25% or so would be enough for me to get the game on Switch.

I never had a problem with the amount of enemies on Legends, what really killed it for me was the level cap only being 99, when the Wii U version went to 252.

I played it on the 3 ds version and it was so fantastic. I had over 200 hours. But now I have the Switch and I 'll have maybe over 400 hours 😍

I really wasn't planning on buying HW Definitive Edition after playing so many hours of the original game on Wii U, however with the next Hyrule Warriors game, Age of Calamity, announced and on the horizon, I'm hyped for these games all over again and I think I'm going to dive back in with this game to prepare for the next one.

I love how Hyrule Warriors completely overshadows it's Fire Emblem Warriors counterpart despite being released on 2 system already.

Nice review, Derrick. Although, I will disagree with one thing: I barely played Adventure Mode in Legends, but I do remember the number of enemies on the New 3DS version being fine. It wasn't a whole lot, but it was enough to keep the spirit of the Warriors games even on 3DS strong. (Though, admittedly, one of the reasons I stopped playing was because I wasn't fond of the enemies constantly spawning right in front of or behind me. :/)

There is one feature that Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition and Hyrule Warriors Legends are missing that the original Hyrule Warriors has: having active character costumes be seen in Legend Mode cutscenes. To me, it seems rather jarring to have Link be in his Fierce Deity costume or Ganondorf in his Twilight Princess armor, but have the cutscene not show the costume in the place of the normal outfit for that level. The only cutscenes that show a different costume on a character in Hyrule Warriors Legends and Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition are the cutscenes where Link is wearing the trainee tunic in the story. I loved seeing other versions of Link in the Legend Mode cutscenes like the Hero of Time or the Hero of Twilight. I would have loved to see the costumes from the Hyrule Warriors Legends DLC in the Legend Mode cutscenes.

Strongly tempted to triple dip for this one just for the quality of life improvements. The health requirements for getting A ranks was also tweaked, so I hear, giving you a percentage threshold instead of a flat number. If that's true, then that will make it SO much better.

I didnt have the 3ds version and barely played the wii u because i didnt want to buy all the dlc finally i can use all the costumes and characters and the updated frame rate is a nice bonus

Man, I can't wait for this one. I got the last two versions, completed the Wii U one and its DLC as well as completed the Great Sea map in Legends. But all of these quality of life improvements will really make this a much more enjoyable experience~

I bought the Wii U version for $10... so I'm good. I almost feel like nowadays you need to wait on most games and buy them later on because there's a great chance that a Deluxe version will be released.
