I've just started playing weekly tournaments at my local bar. I'm doing decent. I've taken second place twice but these videos are really helping me smooth out the rough spots. Thanks.

This is generally true, but low pocket pairs are handle with care hands. Heads up, low pocket pairs are a draw against high suited connectors. If you are playing pocket 2s on the button, you still have a 12.5% chance of flopping a set (and as long as you win a little over 8x the bb with the set, and immediately fold without a set), you are profitable. You should not play low pocket pairs out of position though, and you should fold post flop if you miss the set on the flop and there is a lot of players in the hand or if there are a lot of overs on the flop.

appreciate the advice. I have never played poker, so starting with the basics. This video was very helpful.

Thank you for the video. Do you mind explaining why the chart shown at 15m isn't symmetrical? I.e. a 2-3 stands at either 35% or 39%, or a K-Q at 62% or 64%. Both differences strike me as big, as one plays thousands and thousands of hands over time.

So i gotta say i watched this video and went and played a mobile video poker game, folded almost every hand except some high mid and good hands and left the table with about 4-5x what i started with. Thanks for your videos ill be browsing through your catalog. You've earned my subscription

Yesterday, I was playing four online tables. I hit pocket Aces on two tables at the same time. Brilliant. Got beat on both tables. One with a straight and one with a three of a kind.

I've held on to a pair of twos. On the flop I got another two I started betting and people thought I was bluffing. And I got a fourth two on the river, blew everybody's mind when I showed quads.

Pocket pairs below TT are best played passively to hit a set unless your shortstack then it can make a good shove hand

Another thing to note, playing small pocket pairs like 22-66 give you implied odds meaning that you can hit trips and have a very disguised hand. Definately worth playing if the price is cheap enough. You will often get called often by high pocket pairs, or any two pair making you the favourite.

Suited rag aces (A9s-) can hit top flush. They can also become bluffs/semi bluffs you can use so people call your bets when you do have good hands.

Do not overvalue the dummy end of the straight. If you bet big and get raised often they'll have a better straight. Example, you have 98 and flop comes T J Q. They can easily have AK or K9 having you beat.

Do not overvalue strong starting hands after a bad flop. For example, if you start with aces and the turn gives 4 of a suit with connected cards you do not have, you should check fold

Thank you for keeping this simple and old school..

It appears the millennial poker players who have YouTube channels... over think stuff.

This I can handle, add it with a little bit of common sense I should be just fine👍

Hey Dominic, thank you for the great video. I've a question about how to read it. I've noticed that if you go down then across the percentages are different for the same cards in a different order. As an example a down to Jack then across to 9 gets 57% however if you go across to Jack then down to 9 I get 55%. How should I be reading this chart?

I love your terminology! The cowboys, the ladies, or as my dad would put it, mop squeezers, lol and the fishhooks are terms I've known for as long as I can remember lol having grown up in a poker playing family, I know about 30 different poker games but I love Texas hold'em most

Video is awesome was playing too loose with my online poker and now have vastly improved due to learning the quality of hands and when to lay down even when blind committed. Any vids or tips on how to become more aware of possible opponent hands?
