i have been on this all day, struggled with lights when swapping over, but i saved every step of the way, and no matter what saving point i go to i have lost all my shadows.

someone please help i am on this for hours and keep saving it but alot of my stuff is not saving, all my lights and shadows go

I would say that for an interior scene it's not a good idea to recommend beginners increasing camera clip start to such a high value like 0.5 m. I would rather lower clip end from 1000 to 100 m. A beginner usually doesn't know how clipping works and they will be surprised why some close geometry will disappear.
