I cannot agree more with your intro words ☺, Isle Of Skye is the most beautiful place we have seen in our life, lots of flashbacks after our trip to the Island, best part of Scotland

My family has been going to Skye every year between 2 and 6 times a year since 1971. I've been just about every year of my life as well. It's an absolutely beautiful place, but going there can be a bit sad for me as most of the people with whom my family were close friends on the island and who I met/stayed with as a young child have sadly passed. When I was young, we would always go to a specific restaurant where almost everyone in there would know my Grandad from his decades of visiting. The lady who made the food used to make mussels, which weren't on the menu, for my Grandad every time we came to visit. Now when we go in there, we're surrounded by tourists, and no different from anyone else. Everyone we used to eat and drink and laugh with has either passed away or moved elsewhere. Going to Skye is now an odd experience for me

I really appreciate your videos! They are so helpful! Not just telling about the location but you also give essential information about how to get there and cost that most other videos leave off. Thanks for your work and willingness to share with us.

We were there a year before you. Best part of our two weeks in Scotland!

Great video, we travelled in augustus this year from The Netherlands to Scotland for two weeks of holiday. Also visited Ilse of Skye. Everything you showed we visited (and more). Such a beautiful country.

Don't forget - if traveling in the fall or early spring the sun comes up late and goes down early early. You will only have a narrow window to see your sites. Also, many of the roads that lead to the sightseeing sites are single lane with periodic "pass buys" and driving is taxing. The good news is people drive very very slow on Isle of Skye so be cautious and you'll be OK.

Thanks for that mate, brought back lots of memories! Neist Point lighthouse used to have self-catering accommodation in the keepers cottages, we stayed there for a week ages ago, memorable holiday, the windows were covered in spray when it was rough. One of the best views on Skye is the Cuillin from Elgol, with an epic drive to get there. Fortunately, most tourists don’t make it that far.

Beautiful island - but the secret is out now! Always lots of campervans on the roads in the summer. Go slightly off season - April/May or October and you'll find it a lot quieter!

Gary Gough has a photography workshop there in early November. Beautiful little slice of the world and he gives you a front row seat for 4 days.

I think you are the best vlogger EVER! Thank you! So clear and to the point! I do have a question that I am not sure if you respond your comments. If one rents a car, where do you recommend to stay for the night to spend 2 days around the island? You mentioned the town of poetry? Or anyone knows? Thank you!

You should visit Isle of Lewis/Harris. The beaches are just 😍. Best way to see the island is to get a Ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway, then tour Lewis and then head down to Harris. You can then get ferry to Isle of Skye.
