Great video. I own the DX09 and I bought it the day it came out from sideshow. Yes it's dated and yes it can't hold a pose. These blogger pictures are too crispy. The armor looks too textured. I like the fact that you can't see like the DX09 had a back panel to mess with the eyes. And I'm liking that there are so many photos where he's holding a pose. That's a huge plus for the 89 Batman. I really like an update on a figure, but this should be better. Now we need an updated Nicholson Joker

The texturing of the suit is way more intense than the prototype images show. And yeah, the suit in the film was textured to look and feel more like skin than armor...but they got way too heavy handed on it here...it's pretty insane. I think the cape looks better than the prototype, the sculpt is definitely different on the face plates...the cowl looks a little wider than the prototype, which I think kinda hurts the likeness. I'm wondering how much of the inconsistencies can be attributed to things like the camera lens, or the lighting, or the exposure, etc. On the shelf, I'm sure it looks great, so I'm not too worried about it...

The first set of pics definitely look different than the second...and that does affect how the figure looks overall. I'm still ready to have this on my shelf. Keaton is for sure the iconic screen Batman for me and I'm super excited for this...as well as the Returns 2.0 they teased...so long as they actually make that.

It's actually very accurate to the screen used suit. The texture didn't appear as heavy on film due to the suit being rubbed down with either WD40 or some other oil based liquid to give it a sheen. The 89 cowl also has an unusual width and thickness to it compared to say the 92 cowl.

Where photos from, bro??? What website? I have my DX09 more than 10 years and not really would go with 2.0. The base is just beautiful I'd love to have that tho.

Was going to immediately order but the heavy texture on the chest/suit put the kibosh on that. Such a shame. The prototype was good.

After seeing a side by side with the DX 09, I think the old one has a more accurate cowl. Looks way more like Keaton. It’s a damn shame. I got the Batmobile already. Really want this figure, already got it paid off. Half tempted to cancel now and see how the returns 2.0 turns out. Tough spot to be in

I think overall, this Batman is worthy of updating. I love the battle damaged with the blood.

A mixed-bag if ever I saw one.

Positives - The paint apps make him look more realistic.
- The eyes are much better, again more realistic.
- The cowl is more chunky.
- The faceplates seat better in the cowl - the edges of the plates are easy to see on the DX09.
- The gloves and boots are more "hi def".
- The crude panel on the cowl to access the eyes is now gone.
- Individual eye movement instead of the lousy, fragile PERS.
- The cape is better.... *but
- It articulates!!

Negatives - While I like the beefy looking cowl, something doesn't look quite right, too sleek perhaps and not as angular as it appeared in the film. It almost looks like a hybrid of the 89 and Returns cowls.
- Two of the faceplates are awful; poor likeness and gormless expressions.
- While the bloodied faceplate looks very good, with a solid likeness, the expression looks like it was taken from Batman Returns, just after Batman removes Selina's claw from his midsection.
- The overkill on the suits texture.
- The belt looks too vibrant, too clean, it could do with a black wash.
- While the cape looks better, more manageable, the texture doesn't look quite right, and the colour blend, the two shades of black, between the cowl and the cape looks off. It was more of a seemless flow between the two, as if both were exactly the same shade.

Disappointed in this. The suit texture looks 1:1 scale, way too much, and the face plates are not great looking either. The chest also looks too flat, especially on the right side. But it's what they gave us and if we want it, we have to live with it. Thanks for the review.

Hot Toys have absolutely BUTCHERED Keaton's lips. They are not pouty enough. The blood face plate is good but the rest are below average. This is so disappointing after waiting 12 years for a 2.0. Yes, the body, suit, & cape may be better (arguably) but the likeness is paramount when spending this sort of money & its just not there. The DX09 looks way better from 2012 & that is SHAMEFUL from Hot Toys in 2024.

Except for the cowl, I prefer my Dx09 with a custom cape. I dont dislike this new one but I wouldnt use any other face plate other than the neutral while I switch them from time to time on my Dx09 & love em all

My hype level was an 11/10. After seeing the final product my hype level is a 1/10. I’m a huge Keaton Batman fan and in my opinion the figure looks nothing like Michael Keaton and the texture of the suit inaccurate and ugly. I hate to say this but this looks like dog crap. I have no idea how this took two steps backwards from the DX09. Thinking seriously about cancelling and for me to even consider cancelling a 1989 Batman is inconceivable. I buy everything from that movie. I’m so bummed right now. In total disbelief.
