The smoke capsule was used in the Axis Chemicals scene. When the cops go after Batman, the view cuts from him just as he’s throwing it down to escape.

The texture on that suit is crazy. It's as if the sculptor saw the actual suit and saw some textures on it and directly translated it into the Hot Toys version without scaling the texture down. I also think the DX09 captured Keaton's lip shape much better than the new one. I didn't see the reason to spend a few hundred dollars for a New version when the old one does just fine for my collection.

That damn rubber suit again. Keaton's suit wasn't even fully rubber. It was made up of separate armor pieces attached to a spandex undersuit. You can even see it on the Hot Toys sculpt, yet for some reason they still decided to make it all one solid piece. If they did it how it's supposed to be, he'd be so much more poseable because it would have been cloth at all the points of articulation.
Also, the mouth pieces don't resemble Keaton. That frowning teeth one might be one of the worst likenesses I have ever seen. It makes him look like Beaverman.

The DX09 still takes it for me as it looks more like Michael Keaton which is the most important part.

The likeness to Keaton is not there for me either. There’s something really throwing it off like the mouth location and the eye separation. When you compare it to the secret base review a year ago there really is no comparison. That faceplate was perfect it looked just like Keaton.

Back in 1989 I saw the original Batman suit on display at the World Financial Center in NYC. I was shocked at how small it was. There's no way Keaton is actually 5'-9", more likely the suit was no more than 5'6" with the thick lift soles of the boots. I subsequently saw Christian Bale's Batman suit and have also seen Bale in person, he too is short. However, none of that matters in movies, the actor can be very short as long as the other actor's around him are shorter still, he'll look tall! Heath Ledger's Joker costume was a surprise in the opposite direction, he was a tall fellow!

The darts were never used, but some of those Hot Toys props were made but never screen used. They made them for the toy anyway because they found reference pictures for those props when they got the licence.

Yea I just can't get behind that over texturized suit. From my memory, the suit was always a smooth rubber look on screen. This just doesn't look the same.

The DX09 to this day still looks like Michael Keaton, even moreso than this newer version. The spot on likeness on that figure was ahead of its time, it just can’t be beat and I really feel it holds up. It looks amazing on this new cowl provided you stick it on with some tacky putty or hot glue

The bloody mouth plate is awesome, the other ones are just not good, the eyes also look a bit off to me for some reason

The suit actually isn't too textured. The suit isn't ment to be smooth, if you look at the screen used suit you will see all the texture that was a by-product of the suit technology at the time, that's why by returns it is perfectly smooth and well fitting.

That last pose with Batman over the Joker, if you had his cape spread out like the previous one, that would look epic if you had room on a display for it.
