I'm a Yankee, and I LOVE Southern food so much! I'm so glad you guys like it! I'm the biggest foodie ever and my favorite cuisines are Asian, French and Southern food/bbq/soul food! The key to all Southern food is butter and love! They also have an expression down south if the food is amazing, they say it's "Slap yo momma good!" Basically it means it's incredible 😝

I'm going to teach Alessio a little about living in the country & what we do in the morning. When you become a country boy Alessio, the thing you're eating is a Buttermilk Cathead (you call it a biscuit which is also correct). You take a warm Cathead, cut it in half, add butter and "homemade blackberry jelly" and your eyes will roll back in your head. Do that twice and then grab a plastic bowl and walk out to your garden. You pick green tomatoes and cut your okra (young okra is better tasting and more tender). So that covers 3 of your 10 things. Also when you're about 55, it's wise to introduce yourself to a cardiologist! 😂😆

I’m an American. I worked a job where I made creamy polenta, added mascarpone and Parmesan. It was amazing.
Made it for my dad, and he was like “cheese grits”, to which I was like “what???”
I had never heard of cheese grits, but I sure knew all about polenta.
