Im from Germany and the only reason you stay out of the passing lane, is that at most of the time there is guy way faster than you even if you go 200 km/h ( 125 mph).

As someone from the EU who moved to the US, you can feel the difference of standards on the driver's license on the road. People dozing in the passing lane is one of the hardest thing to get used to.

One major difference. In Germany you will get ticketed for driving under the speed limit in the passing Lane... it might be a rule here, but have you honestly heard of anyone getting a ticket for driving too slow?

Life would be a lot easier in the US if drivers followed the left passing lane rule.

There are some roads in California, specifically highways, where having a speed limit makes no sense. I went on a trip to Mammoth mountain last year and we drove on Highways 58, 14, and 395. all three of those highways had virtually no corners and had nearly nobody on them. The flow of traffic on the 14 and 395 (what little of it there was) was 115 mph. No problems, no police, barely any other cars. Just open road and arbitrary signs that said the limit was 70. Its highways like those, out in the middle of nowhere with long straights and no traffic, that shouldn't have a limit.

in cities and narrow roads where it is hard to pass they should stay to keep some order but on highways there should be none like on autobahn, it sucks when I see a perfect empty strecth of wide, glass smooth highway and have a chance to go hit the top speed but am afraid some cop is gonna take my money and license away

As car and driving enthusiasts, we have to TEACH people what the passing lane is. When I leaned to drive a couple of years ago, there was NO mention of a “passing lane.” I only first heard of it by videos like this.
