Adenoidectomy

Показать описание
Our adenoids are located at the back of the throat, just below where the nose connects. Also known as the pharyngeal tonsil, they are part of our immune system because they protect us from bacteria or viruses that might enter the body when we breathe or swallow. They are more important for children than adults, and they shrink as we grow older. Help out today as Dr. Suzi performs an adenoidectomy... scrub in!

Military guy here… I had a surgery and was told if I had excessive pain to contact my doctor and lo and behold… this guy took for the next week right after my surgery 🤣 I had to deal with the most pain I have ever felt in my life!!! It was light riding lightning in my mouth!

i had this surgery when i was 14, or at least something like it. i had breathing problems, bad snoring, sleep problems, mental health problems that were worsened because of it, i frequently got sick and i frequently had ear and sinus infections. i also had an extremely horrible sinus infection that swelled up the side of my face and especially one of my eyes.

we thought at first that it was a stye but i knew it was worse than that and it was also growing and extremely painful. i had to go to the emergency room, i had to get CAT-scanned, everything. i couldnt even really turn my head because it hurt so much, and before this happened i have been struggling to breathe through my nose and i had long-term sinus problems. i ended up being tranferred to a hospital.

they talked at first about doing both sinus surgery and eye surgery, but luckily my antibiotics helped with the pain and swelling by a lot, and cleared out a lot of stuff. i did have to get my adenoids removed and since then i never felt so much more releived. i feel so grateful, and surgery is so cool!!

I've been wanting this surgery since I was about 12. I have a long history of swelling adenoids and have been complaining to doctors about them since I was 9. When I asked about surgery I was always turned down saying that they'll go down as I get older so it's unnecessary. Sometimes they refused to even look at them to see if they were swollen because they didn't believe I could still have them. I'm 20 now and have been dealing with frequent adenoid pain, reoccurring just about every night.

My son had his adenoids out yesterday, went down at 9am leaving for home by 12.30pm we gave him calpol as a precaution. He is 7 so knows to ask for pain relief if it hurts but so far it's like it never happened he is back to normal

I had this surgery yesterday. In my experience they gave me the anaesthesia before doing anything. But i did see the video of my surgery it looked way scarier so I don't recommend anyone to watch the video of yourself if u had the surgery but u can watch this video

I'm a mouth breather!! And I do get sleep apnea. But how can a doctor know if you need an adenoidectomy if you can't see the adenoids.
