Blizzard's never announced the game like this before. They typically put hiring notices up on places like gamasutra, the video game industry hiring website. For them to announce a game through a hiring drive like this seems like this is an attempt to make this game survive the transition of Microsoft's buyout. I feel like it is trying to force Microsoft to keep this project alive because now blizzards put the notice out it would be bad publicity for Microsoft to suddenly kill the game.

They were late with hots for moba genre, they will be late to the survival genre as well (considering development will take 2-3 years). Let's hope it will bring something worth playing, blizzard's reputation can't afford another bad game

My guess is that this hunter will be a specific character and they have the ability to see footprints on the ground that other players have left... That'll be part of their kit... I'm kinda seeing this as OverWatch meets Rust and I don't fully understand what that looks like... But essentially you have a Rust game with particular characters that have their own kits of abilities... Balancing this though would be a nightmare I feel like... But detecting footprints on the ground strikes me as something unique to this character (if this game is going to have unique characters unlike Rust and pretty much any other survival-type game (aside from a few like Don't Starve, but this seems different), which from the sounds of it it will have unique characters who have as much personality as a character in OverWatch or League of Legends... Meanwhile Rust/Minecraft the characters are far more bland with no strong sense of uniqueness, personality or lore to them...)
