It'll be out in 5 to 7 years based on timelines from the announcement of Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 till their releases.

I'm pretty sure the staff at Blizzard loved Valheim and wanted to do their own survival crafting combat type game

A bit too bare bones to feel excited about at the moment, but i'm glad they're working on something completely different. I have to wonder if this is going to be some kind of metaverse/ready player one kind of game, since that seems to be all the rage right now. But I look forward to hearing more about it.

The design team at blizzard really is like no other. So much detail and creativity when it comes these things. Credit where it's due.

New Blizzard survival game will be called "Blizzard" and will tell a tale about a game studio surviving their management's incompetence. Rumor has it the last boss is called Bobby. Set to be released in 2023.

It gives me vibes from Dungeons & Dragons (TV series 1983-1985) where friends are transported to the "realm of Dungeons & Dragons" by taking a magical dark ride on an amusement park roller coaster and need to survive there and find a way home. The park scene with portal reminds of it.

That looks like a mythical/fantasy hunter. The image looks promising, but I am reserving judgement. I will say that it looks decidedly different from any of their current projects.

The fact that this announcement was unveiled a week after the Microsoft Acquisition is what makes this even more interesting to me, I wonder what it will mean & if that will affect this game?

This seems like a Narnia inspired game. Some teenagers stumble on a secret portal to a fantasy world.
I don't know many games that tap into this story arc, so I see a ton of potential here.
